^^^I'm telling you...before its all said and done, Kobe will move to the 3 and we'll probably have a dual PG set backcourt.

If I may bring my pipe back out for a second...imagine Pau for CP3 again? :pipe:

Minnesota would be the only team that would trade for Pau because of his salary, in my opinion. However, D-will and ak47 for Paul, yaaaaaa, no. Gonna need a little more then that.

I know that most people are focusing on shooters for the perimeter, but to me the big issue is going to be getting a good defensive pf. Since Nash is such a liability on defense, the other starting four must be able to cover for him. Pau is not that guy.

It's undeniably true that the Lakers, if they're missing anything to make Mike D'Antoni's offense flow, could use an extra shooter or two to float to the corners. It's likewise true, sources said, that the Lakers have had internal discussions for months about pursuing Smith, not only for his athletic gifts but also knowing that J-Smoove is one of free agent-to-be Dwight Howard's closest friends in the game. But if that's really who L.A. wants, there will have to be another team or two recruited into the deal to satisfy Atlanta's demands. ESPN.com

According to NBA Hotspots and Basketball Reference, Smith shot 81/292 on jump shots a couple years ago. Good for 27.7%. :hurl: :hurl: :hurl: We scared yet?

No to Smith, if only Chicago didn't trade Korver. Pau for Deng/Korver

Agree. Don't want Smith.

Just want Gasol to be in shoot first mode for a while. and play super aggressive when he has a small on him.

Or, if trade, 3 team trade involving Minny -- D. Williams as the piece going to another team. But I just don't see anyone taking on his contract.

I wish we would dump a scrub and sign Redd or Pietrus for added depth.

I don't like Smith but I can live with this trade.

Pau to Wolves
Smith/Korver (both expiring) to Lakers
Pek Barea Williams to Hawks.

Sam Amico: Word around NBA is Jazz G Alec Burks is available. Burks, the 12th overall draft pick in 2011, has played in just 5 of Jazz's 10 games. Twitter @SamAmicoFSO

This guy any good?

Pau+Ebanks+Morris+Duhon

for

A starting quality nice young SF, but certainly not an allstar. Someone like Batum. Not him per say, but that type.
+
A young athletic sharpshooting backup SG or combo PG. Like a younger Barbosa.

-Start Jamison as the stretch 4.
-Hill is the backup 4 and also slides to backup 5. Maybe Sacre gets a few minutes.

Nash/Young scoring combo guard/Blake
Kobe/Meeks
Batum-esque SF/Metta
Jamison/Hill
Howard/Hill/Sacre

That's a very balanced team, but there is still a big problem of starting PF defense, which is my main gripe about Pau. Maybe we start Hill at PF and also some time at backup C.

That make a combined $19m? Hmm, I think that'll be hard to find since they'll either be making too little (rookie contracts) or the guys around the $10m range are probably budding superstars that teams aren't willing to trade. Worth checking out salaries though to see if it's possible.

Well, atleast this season he has been playing like trash before the rumors start.. So they can't be blamed for his performance.

Pau for Derrick Williams/AK47? :bang:

Think bigger... We may be down on Pau's play but that's not the discussion point for dealing Pau. Mitch is a cold-blooded hustler and we're currently in "win now" mode. He turned Fisher into Jordan Hill, and Walton into Sessions. If he's giving up Pau, he's bringing in a haul. Don't insult the man!
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

Kyrie Irving just went down for a month with a fracture in his finger. I think it's time to send them Blake. :man1:

And Ebanks if they want him.......for Boobie Gibson.

Man, Ariza is only averaging 24 minutes, 8.3 points per game for Washington... I wonder if he's available? :man1:

Time for Ariza to come home! Washington can take their pick of Clark/Ebanks, and Duhon/Blake.

Imagine if our management decided to get Rashard Lewis and Leandro Barbosa instead of Meeks and Jamison.

Those 2 would've been perfect for this style of play. Lewis to play beside Dwight or Hill to space the floor and Barbosa to be an actual legit scoring threat that KNOWS mda offense and has played with Nash before

Instead we got inconsistent Meeks and Jamison

I don't think it's a matter of management deciding to pick players over other players, Lewis wanted to go to Miami so he did, Barbosa said he was interested in coming here then bolted for Boston. Jamison has struggled early and Meeks has been terrible, but it's 11 games into the season, still plenty of time to turn it around.
