33 game winning streak in jeopardy no more. final thoughts?

That really is kind of comical. We all said "Ah the Heat will probably come back and win it and it will be because of Lebron" and now here we are in the 4th quarter and the Heat have taken their first lead thanks to Lebron scoring 11 points, three 3s with 9 minutes remaining to play. It's like the Cavs are reading from a script.

What is disturbing about this is how _fast_ the Heat were able to score in the final minutes of the 3rd. You'd think that if Cavs had just ran the clock a bit on their end that there is no way Miami scores 20 points in 4 minutes.

I think somehow, the HEAT will come back and win this game...it's totally something that WOULD happen.

I'll just quote myself here....seriously I'm not even surprised that they already came back...they should win this game fairly easily....I'm gonna predict cavs score less than 15 pts in the 4th.

Boy i might be off...they may not even score 10....this is embarrassing.

Yeah they were probably better off running the clock out for 4 straight possessions...the Heat may have had 6 less points going into the 4th....looks like all hope is lost for the Cavs...but i mean really they shouldn't have ever been in the game to begin with...but imagine being a Cavs fan right now....I really wanna see the Cavs doom after tonight's game...lol

Well, now I think the 33-game streak might actually be in jeopardy. If the Heat can come back from ~26 down in the third quarter on the road, even against a crappy team like the Cavs, I mean, that's hard to see how anyone can do anything about them anymore at this point. They are playing ridiculously good basketball as a team, with everything working exactly perfectly as it needs to, seems like the only way they lose a game now is if someone gets injured.

20 - 4 in the 4th quarter so far, the Cavs are so awful :hurl:

48-14 run for the Heat since they were down 27 in the third quarter. That's Xbox.

I think the Cavs go on a run make it a tight game late and Lebron goes "Clev LBJ' and misses the game winner for the loss.

One can hope, right? :man13:

The Heat are playing like the Lakers used to when they were champs, only better. Let teams hang around, then flip a switch and completely destroy them. :man5:
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

That was clearly off Lebron too..... No way they were going to give that too the Cavs.

I'm sure Chicago is licking their chops at stopping the streak. If not, bye bye streak. Spurs couldn't care less.

but it is Miami that came back against the Cavs from what I understand it may be the biggest comeback ever.

Man you guys are pretty jaded with this........ :man10:

A 26 point come back against girl scout troop 128 is pretty good in reality. Unprecedented..... no, not by any means..... impressive? yeah I think so.

So... Is it LeBron that has everyone sour or because it's the Lakers record?

I'm not sure they can do it but being able to flip a switch like that on defense is something that's pretty impressive regardless of who it is and as a fan of the GAME it's interesting as well.

Not jaded... My post was based off the announcers reaction to the win.

You weren't the focus of my statement.....

FTR.... I won't like the Lakers losing a record if it happens but I'm won't lose any sleep over it either.

The announcers, ESPN and most sports outlets these days have a vested interest in hyping the top teams and players in the game. Remember that they are all business partners. More eyes the more they can charge for advertising and syndication. It's like never before and the term "news" should not be associated with it any longer. It's getting a little like the WWF and their "announcers" these days.....

^True. It was just funny. I watched the final seconds on NBATv so I don't know which announcer was calling the game but all I could think of was the soccer announcers. This win will get a serious about of hype as "Lebron burns Cavs" or "LBJ digs deep to help Heat beat tough Cavs for #24."

I think its amazing at any level against any competition to make a run like they are on. However, the way its being handled is like they have only played #1 seeds for all the 20+ games. lol

I don't disagree but for any streak like that to happen the stars have to align in some way.

I'm sure if we looked into the Lakers streak in 72 we'd probably find similar things. As I pointed out earlier in this thread the NBA was diluted significantly back then with the ABA coming on full strength. They had 5 HOF players in an 11 team league.... together with the NBA there were 28 teams in a far shallower overall talent pool than today's 30 team league. So it's not like the Lakers were playing HOF competition every night and Miami is playing chumps.... I'm sure it's a little of both in both streaks. Anyway it's premature.... Miami's biggest competitor will be the STREAK.... not their opponents if they play the way they can.
