Pau Gasol Trades Discussion

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/Miami-Heat-Chris-Kaman-Minnesota-Timberwolves-Pau-Gasol-Los-Angeles-Lakers-trade-021512

In other news involving NBA big men, a source said Wednesday that Minnesota continues to pursue a possible trade for Lakers forward Pau Gasol, dangling rookie Derrick Williams, who is from the Los Angeles area, and draft choices. The only players considered untouchable by the Timberwolves, who are seeking to add a veteran by the trade deadline, are Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio. The Timberwolves believe it could be enticing for Gasol to play on the same team as fellow Spaniard Rubio.

There was another thread, but it was locked. The trade alone would suck, but it might be flipped in a 3-way to get Nash, Dwight, or D-Will. Maybe even a PF would come in that package too.

If they don't wanna give up Rubio or Love, then they sure as hell better give us every single player left on their team plus picks for the next couple of years. :man10:

Good candidate for thread title.

Salaries don't work, so I imagine they'd try to palm off some of their trash on us to make the number work or they'd have to get a third team involved which drastically reduces the chances of anything happening.

Here's a clue for the clueless GMs out there, we don't give a #$@$ about your wishlists.

No Love.... no Pau....

Love, Williams and Ridnour for Pau and they have to take MWP.... I might consider that a fare trade.....

If names like luke ridinour, mike beasley, and Derrick Williams were matched with picks i may listen to what they had to say. But it would have to be part of a bigger trade that would bring in a real impact player. One of those names could be a nice 2nd or third piece along side a impact pg/big.

They would be crazy for trading Love for Gasol straight up. Don't overvalue our players.

No reason for New Jersey to make that trade and Williams has been intensely underwhelming this season. Not to mention Minnesota gives up both of their developing young SF/PFs.

I think that NJ would rather take their chances on DWill and Howard..

Chooka's trade scenario doesn't include Artest to Minnisota. Besides, Minnisota is not giving up BOTH Williams and Beasley.

The only reason the Lakers would trade Gasol to Minnesota would be to bring in a piece or pieces for the future to go with Bynum.

i honestly don't like any of their youth either. wesley johnson is a bust so far, beasley is a lazy child, derrick williams is what i thought he'd be a tweener struggling to find a position

Love is an all star and in the discussion of the best PF in the league. Plus he is young and signed for a long time at a reasonable price. Pau isn't any of those anymore.

I disagree. To me Nowitzki is still the best power forward in the game.

Again I don't see why Gasol isn't in that discussion. When he's motivated he's easily one of the top power forwards in the game.

I wouldn't mind Williams and Barrera. Maybe Darko to backup Bynum. Then maybe move Ron to PF where his lack of movement would be hidden better. I'm just not sure that is the best we can get for Gasol. From all the rumors, I wonder if Pau wants traded and the team is trying to move him somewhere he wants. Minny to play with his country mate, Memphis to play with his brother.
