1. "RESIGN" (to quit, leave office, etc.) is not = "RE-SIGN"
2. "SHOULD' VE" (should HAVE) is not= "SHOULD OFF"
- same goes for would've, could've, etc.

he sounds like a good fit to the lakers
but even so... we still need a vet point guard (assuming critter/farmar doesn't get traded)
i hope he adopts to the game very soon
he'll probably most definitely end up better than jordan farmar as a starter

So is Javaris working out with the team yet? He gotta realize what we're trying to do here. And with Kobe's free agency pending, there's literally no time to waste.

Decision making needs to be improved. He's been very turnover prone. Needs to add strength. Gets bothered by small, quick guards who pressure him.

Translation:

He's going to be raped on the defensive end by guards like TJ Ford, Ridenour, BGordon, Tony Parker, Steve Nash

therefore, Smush 2.0

Thanks for the compliation JSM. Looks like he's a good kid, hopefully his work ethic translates into success.

I bet we'll hear the chants of JAVA, JAVA, JAVA.

JAVA > SLAVA, that's for sure. :man10:

No, it means that he's a good NBA fit because harassing, college type perimeter defense is basically illegal in the NBA.

And almost none of those guys you listed play anything close to "pestering" type of defense. In fact, some (Nash) play none at all.

he is probably going to be a trade filler...

he has no future with this club. If they felt any kind of comfort with him they wouldn´t have added Crittenton or last year Shamu or the year before Smush...

Sasha doesn´t have "it". He is a good kid, he is competetive, he hustles and shows that he cares about winning, he is not a locker room issue and I have to admit I can´t say that about many Lakers but I still don´t think Sasha can be a difference maker in this league.

I don't see anything happening with Sasha honestly....he's worth very little as trade filler (either in talent or salarywise)....so he probably stays. At least he tries on defense and is a hard worker. Maybe some miracle occurs and all the shots he nails in practice start falling during the games?

This guy is an elite athlete at his position and built like a tank. If anyone has a chance to slow down a PG, it is a player with his tools.

Young players are usually of two molds: the hard-working competitive types, and the lazy, no intensity types. It looks like Critt is the former. Combine that with his athleticism and he is worth keeping.

If Dave Chappelle and 2Pac reincarnated into the same human, you would get Javaris.

His weaknesses can all be improved.

You can't improve athleticism.

Very difficult to improve competitive fire.

JSM wrote:I've watched him play some here at GT, but I wasn't all that familiar with his background. From what I've read in what I posted in the post I made, I like what I'm reading about him.

-Smart
-Family oriented
-Vocal on the court (weren't all of us begging for some on court communication all season?)
-Very competitive (Kobe will respect that)
-Plays D (he's already the anti-Smush)
-His quote about not giving up, wanting the W (spells more kudos points from #24)
-Knows his role as a PG (Smush would stare at the bench, practically pleading for direction)
-Watches 4 hours a week of NBA PGs (that's already more off the court work than 3/4 of Kobe's teammates put in)
-He's a Magic Johnson fan (has to earn some kudos points from Laker fans)
-Very coachable (meaning the coaching staff can mold him)

One of the most underrated aspects in NBA players today. I'm really starting to like this guy more and more.

I hope we keep both him and Farmar to be honest. I think the competition will only boost Farmar's progress. He's not one to give up in the face of some competition.

I see both Critt and Farmar having similar competitive mindsets which can help both develop faster and contribute sooner.

However, with a big name trade being such a high priority I think one of them gets sacrificed.

Maybe you should brush up on your reading comprehension there a little bit. :man3:

AND he's a Capricorn! :jam2: :jam2: :jam2:

True. I just thought of something. Do you think there's any tension between Dirk and Farmar? :man3:

We all knew about Oden, but there were a couple of other guys in the draft that were noted to be good students in high school and college and not your typical college jock who never goes to class.

It's good to see.

Thanks for the info JSM. I like this kid already.

I would like to see Javaris on the team, nice fit. I was just watching his workout with the Phx Suns, and he has the Zoom Kobe IIs.
