Ok, so.....we lost. Really not what I needed, but such is life. No big deal.
Here is what I saw. Steve Blake stood in front of his man and guarded him pretty well, but not all the time like we needed. He should have ridden everyone all the time and things would have been better. They didn't seem to be faster than Steve per se, but when he let his guard down..........we got burned.
Kobe did good. He fought hard in the end, which I wish would have been sooner, and it almost worked.
Ron had some good lock down defense steals. Things looked good there, and he made some nice shots. He can work on some little things, like have more confidence to hit those wide open shots, seems like a time or 2 he gave them up for some reason, but other than that...fine.
Pau. He needs to work on his closer range shots. He was doing his hooks and they weren't going in. Really just needs to touch that up.
Dwight. I was surprised how slippery the ball seemed for him all night. Glad he made most of his free-throws...that seems to be improving really well.
Everyone else seemed ok. I am a little annoyed Mike Brown took so long to put the starting line-up back in, in the 4th.....seems like if he had done it some few minutes earlier, it would have been a bit of a different story but oh well.
I liked what I saw tonight, but it just isn't enough. They aren't HORRIBLE. Some things are working with offense and the defense can improve, and that is why things aren't working. It's like they know how to do it, but they are a step behind when they decide to do something and so we lose by 10 points or whatever.
This team is better than the record shows......we just aren't getting things done that need to get done. I think Mike Brown is a problem, I think another issue is really just they need to work at things.
My cousin was thinking Dwight is starting to show more that he isn't REALLY 100%, I can't say I really saw it but whatever.
I hope something gets fixed up sooner than later, because we need something now otherwise this is gonna be a tanked season and I really hope that doesn't affect Dwight's opinion on the Lakers where he cheap-shots us in the off-season.
THE BIGGEST EVENT of my night was the fact that I sat in front of a 12 year old Jazz fan who was wearing a C.J. Miles jersey and she proceeded to Trash Talk me every time I cheered for the Lakers in any way. Kind had serious guts, because it is obvious that I am in my 20s. But it was really funny and I was impressed she did it. She was just shouting the typical "Kobe sucks"/"Lakers suck" garbage but it was funny.
But Jazz fans love to talk spit when they beat the Lakers. So funny, as if like we care to hear them and is if we do that all the time to them when we are the winners on the road.
Fun night still for me and my cousin and friends. Was nice to be there in person.
Also a lot of this is my opinion. I figure a lot of you guys saw things better or differently, but this is what I saw and felt from my perspective of being there at the game.
Here's to the rest of the season.
