Grant Hill Not A Fan of Steve Nash's Move To The Lakers

The Suns and Lakers have a pretty fierce West Coast rivalry, and so it makes sense that Grant Hill was surprised to see Steve Nash leave Phoenix for L.A.

When asked about the move on radio station KGME in Phoenix (via ProBasketballTalk) Hill said, "That's like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina."

Hill and Nash were teammates for five years (2007-12) in Phoenix, before Nash went to the Lakers and Hill signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

What's Grant's beef with the Lakers? He must really hate the Lakers as a kid growing up til now since he turned down the Lakers deal twice and saying that he doesn't like seeing Steve sign with the Lakers.

I could honestly care less if he has a problem with it. Bottomline is Nash is a Laker and he and every other opposing player is gonna have to deal with that.

Hill never liked the Laker organization that's already obvious. He seems to resent Bryant even through that squeaky clean image he portrays.
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

Well they called Kobe "Grant Hill with a jump shot" when he came into the league. Maybe that's why he's mad, who knows.

you'd think someone smart enough to graduate from duke would at least know which bandwagon to jump on. enjoy the bitterness of being on the second best team in your own city for the rest of your career.

So Steve is transferring from a school/team (Duke/Suns) to a team/school (UNC/Lakers) that has more championships then the initial school/team.

The CLippers sound more and more like Jan Brady but instead of Marsha its the Lakers. "Why is always about Lakers, Lakers, Lakers :man6: "
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Hill is talking rivalry aspects but it's more like Wake Forest to North Carolina. Never liked Dem Blue Devils.
