Greg Oden?

Greg Oden?

Postby Aristotlexxx on Fri Aug 01, 2014 2:35 am

Since the only true Center on this Lakers team is Robert Sacre. Why don't we take a chance at another back up center? Greg Oden is the guy! You can sign him at 1 yr at the veteran minimum. :jam2: :jam2: :jam2:

I realise the shortage we have at centre, but I would rather take a chance on Beasely at SF/PF than a busted player doing a Bynum and growing his afro on the bench. Oden has only two plausible advantages, 1 Fooling near sighted but rich fans into buying seasons tickets when they confuse him for Lebron and 2 Hoping that when his knees explode on the court he takes out some collateral damage and his human shrapnel destroys both Howard and Harden in a magic karma bullet scenario. Take the fork out of him because he is still done.

Not sure if serious, but... I would prefer just about every not retired, semi-healthy bigmen that ever played one minute in the NBA, say Cezary Trybanski, and good luck finding out who that is.

If he were even remotely able to play 15-17 mpg, I would love to bring him in. We need a C who can anchor, badly. Skill wise Oden has exactly what we need. But injuries? It looks doubtful if he will ever play significant minutes ever again in the NBA.

We've got at least one thread already existing for a discussion like this.
