Hakeem: Dwight Wanted To End Up On The Lakers

Hakeem: Dwight Wanted To End Up On The Lakers

Postby Kobe8Fan on Fri Feb 08, 2013 10:59 am

In a phone interview with Fox Sports Florida, Olajuwon, a Hall of Fame center, said Howard told him in the summer of 2011 that he wanted out of Orlando after eight seasons primarily due to how he was being used by then-Magic coach Stan Van Gundy, and that he wanted to end up with the Lakers.

"That was a surprise," Olajuwon said of the Nets. "I don't know where that came from. He was very focused on knowing he wanted to go to the Lakers."

I thought Stan put him as the focus of the offense.

That would give him the most touches.

I'm starting to feel that he doesn't really know what he wants.

I think that's really what it all boils down to, he doesn't know what he wants, and what he thinks he wants constantly changes. Today he could want to leave LA, in the offseason he could end up signing with us for 5 years, a week later he could ask for a trade.

Him ripping off his Lakers jersey on the bench after he was prodded into playing in the Boston game sure didn't look like warm fuzzies for the franchise. Especially after being questioned by Kobe and others about playing through some pain.

I don't get the shoulder / operation / summer rehab thing. He doesn't want the operation because he'd have to rehab again all summer. But if it's not repaired properly to attach his labia .....errrrr.....labrum back to the bone how does it ever get fixed. How can he "lift" like he wants to lift to have the bowling ball shoulders.

How could you blame the guy?

anyone over 6'9 that isn't happy with just being a screen setter and re-bounder should not want to play for this clown.

I'm sick and tired of Howard's act but I'm even more sick and tired of the FO and this coach's act.

oh yeah, he's right to not want to play for dantoni. get that clown out of here. the issue is whether howard can man up and handle the spotlight. so far, it doesn't seem like it.

if you read between the lines of kobe's quotes, he's saying that howard's feeling sorry for himself. you can see it in his play. he can't finish lobs or power up in traffic, so he's not having any fun. he doesn't know how to play at less than full capacity, and he looks depressed about it. kobe and nash are saying: uh, we've had to play at less than full capacity for years now. welcome to the club. now figure out how to be effective at 70%.

I'm with you on MDA....but to answer your question.....STAT.

Oh and Nash + Durant + PnR = most unstoppable force in the NBA.

More accurately, any back to the basket player would hate playing for MDA.

I'm sorry but this sounds waaaaaaay to convenient...... I'd like to know if they have a common agent, endorsor or publicist before I believe these comments.

Hakeem out of the blue with a comment like that. :man3:

If we are to believe this..... Howard didn't like being the center of the offense and the center of the Franchise in Orlando..... because that is "how he was used" down there.

It's because he was hoping that Phil would be the coach and I don't blame him if that was the case.

i highly doubt howard came to LA thinking "ok we're going to completely blow the early games, brown will get fired, and they might bring phil back"
:man10:

if he knew all that, he needs to quit the NBA right now and pursue a career as a fortune teller
