Interesting Trade Deadline Week wrinkle: Hearing Pelicans poised to receive Disabled Player Exception in $4 mil range for Ryan Anderson
Expand

They've been trying to get a big, specifically Asik, I wonder if they give Mitch a call for Kaman or Hill. Both players would fill a need for them.

That $4M exception is the Warrior's isn't it? If so, do they even need Ryan Anderson or is this part of something else. I like Jordan for Pelican's first....

They aren't receiving the disabled player exception from another team, the league is giving it to them because Ryan Anderson won't be able to return this season. Just like the exception the Nets got for Brook Lopez, & the 1 we'll get next season for Nash. The Warriors 4M exception is from Jarrett Jack leaving.

Ah, got ya. I totally read Disabled Player Exception and thought "TPE". No idea why. That makes sense.

But yeah, Jordan Hill for their 1st :jam2:

^ again, pelican's 1st belongs to philly. it'll be a straight salary dump or part of a larger trade.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 28m
Sacramento and Brooklyn discussing a deal centered on Marcus Thornton for Jason Terry and Reggie Evans, league sources tell Yahoo Sport

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 27m
For Sacramento and Brooklyn, this is one of several conversations officials are having with several teams.

I looked at the Nets Roster; if Evans is traded they have essentially 3 big men...they have Garnett, Blatche, and Plumblee...and after looking at their completely roster, it's evident to me they are going to need another Big Man and that might be where Jordan comes into play. There's no way that an older Garnett, Blatche, and Plumblee is going to be their frontcourt making a playoff push in this 2nd half of the season. Additonally, the Nets are at a 15 max roster limit; if this deal that Woj is report comes to fruition, the Nets will have 14 roster spots and the ability to add Hill as a 15th man; now, there are other trades/factors I'm not aware of; but why else would Brooklyn be offering Evans if they didn't think they would get acquire another Big from another potential deal?

:man3: hmm i wonder why mitch & jim are trying to trade the "best backup big" in the league for virtually nothing? jordan hill is a freaking beast and yet they are willing to make him a straight salary dump for a player exception? :man4: wow they are treating him like a below avg talent. i wonder why would they do that since so many hear swear up and down he is a total beast that we should invest our future dollars in. wow none of the genius wannabe GM's here saw this coming. they are treating jordan hill like he is virtually worthless. i hope this trade does not happen because the lakers organization can't go on without jordan hill :man10:

cool story bro.

again, putting words in peoples mouths and mocking. maturity and common sense. find it.

if someone took the time to understand the salary cap and luxury tax, they wouldn't need to ask such simple questions.

Why do you post like this? This is blatant trolling. It doesn't help the site and no one is talking the way you are saying anyone is talking.

I'd give you a warning for it but honestly I don't think you're actually attacking anybody on this site since no one talks about Jordan Hill like this except the imaginary person you're mocking.

And immediately following that tweet was ...

@stevekylerNBA: .@RambysPro: Is it a sure thing he is traded? --> No. With luxury tax he'd cost Nets $17 million.

I'm not seeing the Nets taking Hill at the cost of 17 mil when they are going nowhere this season. But then their owner is crazy billionaire so who knows.

sadly I agree, ultimately I think Hill is worth more than that but I am almost certain that he will leave the Lakers after this year because of MDA so why not get something in return for him.

I don't think it's just D'Antoni. I think we won't pay Hill his market value so why keep him tied down this season?
