I could see that too.. Hopefully we get rid of D'antoni & bring Hill back on the cheap but I just don't see it.. Some team is going to offer him atleast 6M a season.

Looks like Jordan and Pau might be staying now.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

3/18 million. Great value and good opportunities. I'd do it without question.

No. Fisher would respect Hill for busting his butt out there on the floor.

I want him back, there should be no issue now that 'Antoni is gone, if he wants to be a Laker I'm sure we'd like to keep him.

Me, too. Hill is solid and can play two positions.

No idea if we should bring Hill back, even with D'antoni gone.. It'll depend on who we draft, who we're able to get in free agency or trade for, & what kind of offers he sees elsewhere.. Too many variables at play to even take a guess at it.

I don't see us giving him anything more than a 1 year deal or a 2 year one with a team option. Hill is a great guy to have on a team that is contending as a bench energy guy but as a starter on a bottom of the league team he's fairly easy to replace with a younger player that can grow.

If we can somehow wave a wand and become relevant again then keeping him makes sense if not then we should probably let him go.

Did someone say wave a wand?

Would you give Jordan Hill a 5 year 15-18 million dollar deal? That means only 3-3.6 million per year, but you've got him for a long, long time. You'd have to really commit to using him and him being effective.

What do you all think?

Yes. Now that D'Antoni resigned, we may end up having a chance at having a frontcourt this season; additionally people getting the minutes they deserve at their respective positions. He's very good coming off the bench, only 26, and at the salary you presented is still relatively cheap for a big that can do the things he can on the floor. I'd lock him up.

With all the increased injuries and such that seem to be on the rise, no i would not like to take a gamble on Jordan Hill for that long depsite the lower salary per year amount. Before Doc runs in here :man10: and says that Hill has never had a serious injury I would agree, but 5 years is just too long with the injury risk/possibility of something happening.

Yes, but this is the thing.... We've now given Pringles the boot. What are we doing about the rest of our problem? That being injuries.

If you tell me the team plans to hire more medical/training/conditioning staff, I'm all for signing Hill up for the long term, because I think the injuries are a product of not having enough staff this season. If you tell me we're going to roll with what we have for the foreseeable future (which would be stupid IMO), then no... not a chance in hell do I want any player that's been injured as much as Hill has been.

We need to get waaaayyyy ahead of all these injuries to be much more preventative in the seasons to come.

LOL

Whatever happened to players like that? Seems like a lot of big players are pretty dang fragile.

My sarcasm meter might be off a bit, but are some of you guys taking that link as he's injury prone?

Depending on how the draft goes, J. Hill would probably be at the top of my list for signing of the guys we already have. I like that he can play the four or five, can start or play back up. Versatility, hustle, boards - works for me. I'm interested in re-signing Farmar as well, but I think it also depends on who we draft and what we are trying to do at the position. Farmar is still only a borderline starter in my book. He's better than Marshall, IMO, but good enough to play 30 mins a game? Hmmm . . . not sure about that. On the fence. Hill I don't really see a problem with.
