2 times 2 years deal and 2 times player opt-out option after one year......I am really happy to see both in Lakers uniform and I prefer not think too much what could happen after this season...Kobe, Malone, GP etc etc all free agent! Mitch better take some sleep this season because he will have to work twice next summer!!!

By the way, no sign of an official Horry deal with Lakers yet.... :man3:

My fingers, eyes and t's are crossed. I love Horry as well. It would be great to see him redeem himself in a Laker uni.
Are you sure they didn't just offer him a contract? I heard that one. Oh well, a whole lot is gonna shake down today.

Go Lakers

Damn, I still ahven;t heard anything official on Horry staying with the Lakers. There was nothing about it on FoXsports last night or ESPN. Can anyone confirm that Horry is staying?

Hey guys hate to bust your bubble, but I just read on a NBA rumor site, Horry wants a three year deal. And the Spurs, Mavs, and Jazz are all interested in him. I mean don't get me wrong I love Rob, I want him back so bad. Come on Rob come back for the ring not the money.

I love Rob too but He has enough rings to last him a lifetime. It may not be about rings to Rob. If I were him I would be thinking about the MONEY too. Although playing on this years Laker team good be appealing I really thought that Rob would move on for more money. I'd love for him to stay but wouldn't blame him for leaving.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram
The Star-Telegram's Dwain Price reports that if the Mavericks want to land Robert Horry, they may have to offer him a three-year deal worth as much as $16 million. The Spurs, Jazz and Lakers are also believed to be pursuing Horry.

Also, the LA Times reports a similar thing.

Because Payton is still hoping for one more big payday, it is believed he wanted a short deal, with the option of becoming a free agent again next summer. The Lakers were willing to give him a long-term contract, worth $22.6 million over four years

Also the Lakers need to get payton for an extention. I know he will opt out next year when the Lakers win the ring!!! Im wondering if the Lakers can offer him more money next year when he opts out? That goes for malone too!!!

Horry is back??????

Although I think that Rob should definitely come back to LA, I think he's trying to lookout for himself in the long haul. He wants to make sure that he puts himself in the right position in the final years of his career. I love Rob with the Lakers and I would hate to see him playing for another team - especially when the Lakers have such a strong team this year. I hope he works out a deal with the Lakers[/b]

It would kill me to see Rob hit a game winning 3 at the buzzer to beat the Lakers. Man That would suck.

Even if we put him as an IR, I don't want to see him go. He deserves another title.

The Mavs will try to sign Horry just to keep him away from the Lakers. They dont need Rob! They need a real inside player not a shooter like Horry!!! Lakers will only offer horry 1.5 because they are over the cap, but they can offer more if they really wanted too. We will see!!
