How about signing with Pietrus ?

He is good at d, and he can spread the floor with the 3s. I think he will be a good fit for us.

Sure I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I think Pietrus' agent said something about not wanting to sign for the minimum which is all he'd get here. If he's down to do that why the heck wouldn't we? That would shore up our one thin spot on the roster at backup 3. It would mean not developing Ebanks at all, but Pietrus is a good proven player, better than Ebanks so Brown would just go with that and I'm sure we'd all be a little more comfortable about that roster spot.

I'd give him the remaining of the mini-MLE, I think $1.6 mil? for 2 years thats not bad at all. Hes worth it.

You and I would do it since it's not our $, but Lakers have already said they aren't going to use any more of that. I think they are satisfied with developing Ebanks because he's cheap. He would be a GREAT pick up, though.

I'd pick him up. I like Ebanks, but Pietrus provides what Ebanks does on a consistent level. He's not as athletic as Ebanks, but he's athletic enough.

I'd then use Ebanks as a package with Blake to hopefully find a better backup PG. Sucks for Ebanks because I like him, but that'd be the route I'd go...

Even so. Ebanks is going to be just fine.

^ Man, if we could package Blake/Duhon, Ebanks, Morris for Calderon then sign Pietrus for 2 years at the rest of the MLE. I'd be one VERY happy Laker Fan.

Nash/Calderon
Kobe/Meeks
Metta/Pietrus
Pau/Jamison
Dwight/Hill

UGHHHH.

Not to mention, Calderon being expiring would help out with Tax in 2013.

This. He won't sign for what we can offer.

Also this thread is so we don't have a new thread for every individual off season signing idea.
