All I know is even an ancient KG and a healthy Dwight in the front court would create one ridiculously devastating defense

I love that people are freaking out like the Lakers are ACTUALLY going to get KG.

KG is someone that would be nice to have, will he really come? Don't think so. Let him go to the Clippers so then the Lakers can keep Dwight. They can't have Dwight, KG, Blake, and Paul all on the same time. Lakers will trade Pau for some YOUNG people (like everyone is pissing and moaning about) and we'll be fine.

I think KG would be nice because he looked good this season, but Nash looked good the season before he came to the Lakers and then something happened. Oh well. Let's just all realize that anything can happen, this is most likely NOT TO HAPPEN, and go about our lives.

Everyone seems to have lost their $h#@ over this news.

I get that KG is old, people dont see him as someone that can make it through a full season, costs too much and that he's a jerk who shouldn't ever wear P&G in fact thats far from unreasonable. But if people really believe that he's done and should retire then I disagree with that personally.

^^Don't disagree one bit with that..... I don't think adding him helps us get to another championship either however. It prolongs what needs to happen IMO. Grasping at another player who's past is a lot brighter than his present is why we're here.... more of the same seems to begin to define insanity.

I get what you're saying, but i'd take kg regardless. I think growing a team has proven more difficult than cashing in on your purchasing power and fielding a team of competent veterans.

if the lakers could throw howard/kg/pierce/kobe/nash/blake/clark/mini mle on the floor, they have a puncher's chance. to me that beats hoping to hit big on draft choices and build a team over 5 years.

The odds of winning tonight's lottery are higher than that group playing 20 games together.....

mostly because of nash. kg hasn't been 100%, but he hasn't missed a ton of games. same with pierce and kobe.

still, even with injury risk, I like it better than starting over from scratch. I have flashbacks to the post-Jordan bulls...yikes.

The injury risk isn't as great if we get Bradley, that's why he's the key to the entire deal to me. Nash is the most likely to be hurt & if he is Bradley can start. I don't think KG is a bigger injury risk than Pau at this point.

It could be that ugly..... I'm not sure we can avoid a poor few years..... We've spent our future picks on this squad....

Definitely not a KG fan. AT ALL. But I will give him credit, he's still playing very good basketball even when he has to play C in Boston. He changed the entire defensive environment for the Cs. He's a tough customer, is an old school competitor, wants to win, and plays very good D. Pairing him with Dwight would give us the best defensive frontcourt in the NBA, hands down. I think he could also help the evolving Dwight stay focused and maybe he could give him a couple tips on being a bit nastier on the court.

I'd take KG over Pau any day of the week. But he's not what we need or the direction we should go.

Again, if the plan is to franchise Dwight, you build around him. KG ain't a long term solution, but while we have short term players (Kobe), you make this move! Defense should be the goal...nothing else. As we've seen, talented players can score. If your franchise player is a great defender, you hightlight that as your image.

Now, if the Lakers can some how swing this to involve Rondo....you're setting up a great short term and long term solution. Not a fan of "those guys" but we have dealt with them in the past and if this is something that gets us back 1, possibly 2 good defenders, you pull!

I wouldn't trade for Pierce because of what Id have to pay him, but I'll surely sign him as a free agent if he was willing to accept the little bit that I had to offer.

While Pierce would be good to be had talent wise, he's also on the short end of his career.. Our downfall this season was our age to the core guys which lead to injury, adding a 35-36 year old player who is going to be asked to have a major role will probably not work again.. That's with pride aside because I simply don't want this guy any where near our team.

KG.. He's a very loyal player.. I think he'd rather play for the Cats before joining the Lakers.
