The Lakers should not be too arrogant that this 4th championship is in the bag. I know that we will get it eventually, if we don't get too arrogant that it affects our play and starting underestimating our opponents, then we are ok.
I think it is that arrognace that helps the Lakers step it up and causes their opponents to cower.
As B Shaw said: "Late in the game, you can see the look in other teams' faces. It's like, 'Oh no, here we go again.' They play to avoid losing. We play to win."
In my opinion there are three stages of mindset based on experience and confidence:
1) Playing not to lose
2) Playing to win
3) Knowing that your opponent has no chance
The 3rd is where the Lakers are, and while many frown on such arrogance, the we've seen the results 3 and now 4 years running.
But our focus right now is with the Wolves and nothing more.
True for the Lakers team, but not for the fans. This gravy train ain't gonna last forever, so I for one am going to take full advantage and run as much mess as I can until it ends.
