no, he's on the team alright. He's in his last year of his 2 year qualifying offer we gave him when we drafted him.

look at meeks here. omg, nash has this guy to pass to now. oh, steve blake will play his natural position and will play a lot with meeks and jamison. lakers bench is going to be solid.

Meeks does two things: he plays man to man defense and he shoots the 3. It's amazing how many threes he shoots compared to every other type of shot. As far as I'm concerned, that can be the only shot he takes next season.

We already have guys doing the work in the post and shooting the mid-range J.

I think it's safe to say the league has yet again been KupJACKED.

Atleast with Meeks on the team we shouldnt see as much of the retarded Blake at SG+other scrub at PG lineup.

Clipper bench includes Billups, Odom, Grant Hill, Jamal Crawford.

There is pretty much a zero chance we have the best bench. SA is like 10 guys deep, Denver is like 10 guys deep etc...

the Lakers really only have Jamison and Hill as solid backups. The rest is just unproven or over the hill.

I wouldn't say Meeks is unproven, he started a majority of the games in Philly. Also, if Billups isn't their starting SG then who is?

I think our 3rd string guys are very weak but our 2nd guys are very strong role players outside of Blake and Ebanks. I think if you look at our bench from a "what if a starter gets injured" perspective its bad because there just isnt much outside of the top 8 guys, and if Nash got hurt wed see a lot of Blake. Knowing Mike Brown, he will only play us a 8 man rotation most of the time anyway. Looking at it that way, and granting we have a relatively healthy season (we already know Dwight is going to miss time) , I think our bench will be very strong. Not extremely deep, but the guys that will see minutes are strong.

I also said IF we get a ok PG, which may or may not happen, as our resources are very exhausted. A PG other than Blake would alleviate my concerns about Nash getting injured, as I think if the that happened with the way our team is built right now it would end our season.

I don't think Meeks sucks...but he has been in the NBA 3 seasons.

Last year he averaged 8ppg, 2 rpg and 0.8 assists in 25 minutes while shooting 40%....

Shannon Brown could do that too. We are weak on the backup spots on the wing. Glock, DJO, Meeks are all undersized 2 guards that aren't exactly your favorite combo guards.

Realistically while Meeks can shoot and that will be his primary job (being a spark off the bench) there is a reason he is getting 3 mio. for 2 years while the second year is a team option. He isn't quite that good.

The Lakers don't have the best bench in the league, but with the sheer force in their starting lineup they really don't need the league's best bench.

That's a solid bench. It has holes and there's places where they can improve, but it's definitely a good enough bench to compliment our starting lineup. I would love a vet PF/C, or even Sacre, so that we have the flexibility to slide Jamison up to SF on occasion.

This is not a bad bench at all. It's going to have enough offensive firepower to keep our starters off the floor for too long. The bench could use some tweaks, but it's definitely going to be solid enough.

While our bench isn't exactly loaded.. We have good versatility.. With Kobe in the game with him at times, & the passing level of our bigs, Meeks can play minutes at PG no problem.. If Kobe doesn't guard the opposing PG, Meeks isn't a bad defender.. The main problem will be fast guards beating him.. Which is of less concern to us than any other team with our paint protectors..

Jamison is another versatile player that could help us.. To get the most of our bench, we'll need to play Jordan Hill too.. Jamison has the ability to play SF for stretches.. That could be a huge saving grace for us if Ebanks doesn't take a step foward..

Then we have that factor I spoke of with Ebanks - potential.. Ebanks, Glock, Dojo or Morris finding their game this season would make us insanely deep.. But the important thing is the versatility of our lineup protects us if they don't..
