That doesn't mean we won't look for someone who might challenge his minutes, but he's certainly going to be here this summer (unless he's asked for in a package to get a SF, but that's another story).

if he's gona be back we need someone BETTER than him, he needs to be the last option. Otherwise bringing in someone of similar talent/production to challenge each other isn't gona be much better, one of em is gona be off if not both at the same time.

In a more limited role Jodie's deficiencies will be less apparent. No one hated him this much when he was only playing 20 minutes a night. It's because he's clearly outmatched in the starting lineup. Off the bench he was a solid producer. If we actually had a roster instead of a bunch of banged up older bodies, he'd be just fine.

^^^I would still prefer a backup 2 that is a true specialist, either an elite type shooter or solid defender. Even as a bench player Meeks still gets absued defensively and as we see his D is not there or sufficient most of the time. You can't get beat 1 on 1 and lose your man off-ball as well, you just can't...one or the other is fine.

Well against bench level talent that happens/happened a lot less.

Jodie is a career bench level talent. If he were providing the 15-20 minutes of rest Kobe needs, it's one thing, but he's now in the starting lineup supposedly as a main cog to lead us to the playoffs? It doesn't work and his deficiencies are really exaggerated.

Sadly, I remembered that Jodie Meeks is not even better than Sasha.

At least Sasha was pesky. I also think Sasha would knock down more shots with the same freedom and green light that Meeks seems to be enjoying. All he does is jack up shots and play hot potatoe with the ball.

I'm glad to see that he's been able to step in a little bit more now on his shots....him and mwp get so wide open often but rather than step in they always seem to chuck it for 3's even when they're off. However with that said, his 3pt shooting is atrocious, I though he was gona get it together when he hit his 1st one but just brick after brick and boy does he blow defensively, again I dont care to much about getting beaten 1 on 1 but dude is consistently losing his man off ball every dam gm. Pretty much has very little awareness of his man when they're constantly on the move, I dont think there has a been a gm this season where Jodi doesn't get beat backdoor at least once every game.

Jodie is a terrible man defender. He gets lost on off-ball screens so easily it's awful. He gets overpowered by bigger SG's. Only thing I can praise him for is his hustle.

He had a real nice offensive game, but defensively he's taking too many pages out of Kobe's book.

He stops paying attention when the ball moves quickly. He gets caught watching the ball too much while his man just cuts back door. When he's playing man defense I can almost see his mind thinking instead of just reacting. He's a step and a half too slow around picks, around jump shots...

The one thing he does really well is close out on open jump shooters.

better than the usual Meeks game. made mistakes but hit some huge shots. can't complain since everyone was missing shots. he did get hammered on a ton of plays with no calls. no surprise bc it was Joey Crawford baseline ignoring it.

good game keep it up

He hit shots late and I know that's something Finwe has been on him about all season (deservedly).

Good game by him. He worked his tail off on the other end too and just like Morris, it helps a lot when he's every bit as athletic as the guy he's guarding.

Well it is about time Meeks hit a wide open 3. His defense also looked better, too, here and there. Let's hope he keeps this up. :jam2:

Even though he missed a lot, his makes were big, especially since no one was scoring. Good hustle too

Yeah, I used to really get mad when he missed a "momentum" 3 or something like that. Not tonight, he hit some timely shots, especially considering how hard it was to score for everyone

I can't stand his inconsistent shooting. He hit some key shots, though. He's still a liability out there though when his shot isn't going in...

Played better towards the end but I still don't trust him as our starting 2 and getting the bulk of the minutes. I would rather go with a Nash/Blake backcourt if Nash ever comes back.

outside of those 2 3's at the end, I didn't think he had much positive effect on the game....getting backdoored, gambling on D, getting killed on screens, leaving shooters wide open, typical Jodie D. We really need a wing next yr who can create his own shots, his inability to finish at the rim is amazing considering his age/athleticism, its like seeing Fisher out there attempting layups w/o the smarts.

WTF is up with Meeks lowering his head and going spastic driving to the hoop. Dude is WORSE than Fisher. At least Fish was smart enough to try to draw the foul.

Yeah those two he hit in the 4th were really nice. You could see he was feeding off the crowd and the bench.

I thought guys like Meeks were supposed to be the s*** in D'Antoni's system.

Can't make a shot and gets caught watching all day, but thanks for hitting that 3 in the 4th vs the Spurs and putting them out.

I just want Jodie "miss buckets" Meeks to makes some d*** 3 pointers on the regular. No power drives to the hoop, just "catch and shoot" man! I shouldn't feel such uncertainty when he takes a 3, afterall he's supposed to be our 3 point specialist.

New rules is one letter and the rest asterisks my man. :) -therealdeal
