Love his shot from the outside

Meeks game is pretty limited but if he can hit the 3 with some regularity it will help us immensely. He should not be put in situations where he has to dribble or drive....

He isn't the best defender either but hustles.... he can be taught to put that hustle into productive defensive action.

I see what you're saying but i think he's been solid on D guarding both PG's and SG's....I don't see any mishaps on that end from him. He definitely can stay in front of his man...he's quick enough.

Also, yes, he needs to just shoot when he gets the ball and he's wide open. however, if he gets the ball, and his man is in front of him...he does pretty well in pick and roll situations because his man doesn't wanna go under the screen cuz they know he'll launch a 3 if he does that...so it forces a roll by the big and a nice pass by Jodie almost every time. You have seen him do a few pick and rolls with Dwight and they've been fairly successful with it. I don't think his game is as limited as people are saying. I really think he just needs to play more. I'd like to see him out there for 20-25 mpg.

^^I seem to remember he being a more rounded player when I watched him last year. His skill set is lacking in some areas (ball handling for example) and defense is lacking in most younger role players IMHO.... not just him. He's trying and he's making his 3's for the most part the last few games. If he can give us a reliable 7 ppg while making defenders come out of the paint to guard him that will go along ways to opening up the middle along with going with a lot more Jamison and a lot less Hill.

Meeks is an OK defender. Not spectacular, but he is certainly not a matador. In any case, he's playing better now, and as long as he can make his shots I would use him to rest Kobe. As much as possible.

Fortunately, MDA is a type of coach who likes to play guys who are "hot" without having a 100% set rotation, which benefits players like Meeks and Jamison. If they play well, give them more minutes and it will pay off on so many levels.

Agreed. Players like Meeks seem to thrive next to Nash. I could see him working his way into even more minutes when we're healthy. Ron has been consistent this season, but I still wouldn't mind seeing Nash-Meeks-Kobe lineups. If we're going to score like Pringles wants us to, we're going to have to run more.

Wow!! Shooters can get hot, and Meeks was definitely on fiyah! Nice to see we've finally got a guy who can just light it up from out there. Seemed for years like everyone had one of those guys except us.

Jodie Meeks (7 3's tonight) learned his 3-point shooting routine from Ray Allen & Michael Redd in Milwaukee. 500 in a day.

Looks like he barely misses when he doesn't think about it ... could become a deadly PNR player if he improves his handles

great game, but I would love it if he could be more consistent, rather have 2-3 3's a game from him then none one game and 6 the next
