Jodie Meeks Discussion: Defensive Liability

Isn't Redd still out there.

If so, why not just dump DJO and sign Micheal Redd. His knee is stronger. That way we have Redd and Meeks as back up 2 guards.

Redd can still hit the 3, and the mid-range. On reputation alone he won't be left open too much.

Or Delonte......

DJO is an athletic freak, but too small. We don't have time for projects.

Dump Clark too for Pietrus. Then we are set for the year.

if he continues struggling when everyone gets back, i wouldn't be surprised to see duhon get some burn at the backup sg spot.

Just tell him to stand in a corner and shoot it if he's open, pass if not.

Meeks is suffering from PTBS - Post Traumatic Brown Syndrome. Mike seems to have wrecked our young backup SG's instead of instilling confidence in them. Meeks will get better for us - give it time.

the only way is up, regarding meeks. im still waiting to see something out of him. even if all he offers is 3's... it would help alot having a consistent sniper off the bench

even jamison is picking up his game lately..

The way Kobe is playing, it's hard to give this guy very many minutes. I like his shot; he just needs to average maybe 15-18 mins a game to be more effective.

Question: What is the only thing Mike Brown did right in his tenure as the Lakers head coach?

Answer: Benching Jodie Meeks.

Alright I have faith in the dude...he needs to get more minutes...maybe get out there with Kobe and Nash and the starters....cuz with the bench he hasn't been effective at all.

The garbage sig is officially in tact...let's go MEEKS!!!!!!

our last hope is that nash will up jodie's game...and i believe that can happen. he needs to share as much floor time with nash as possible.

i have faith in him. his confidence is def low but i think once nash is back and he actually gets more mins playing with duhon or blake he'll be okay. right now kobe is doing what hed normally do and what nash would do so it doesnt leave a lot of burn for meeks.

Dantoni knows what meeks can do and i have faith in both him and meeks that itll be okay once nash is back and everything is back to normal.

I'm not ready to give up on him yet. Like punk pointed out, he's a streaky shooter, he could easily bust out of this slump and start knocking them down, but he needs to be put in position to succeed and get open shots. Maybe Nash will help with that as fkmikebrown mentioned, hopefully so.

like we've been saying, Meeks and Jamison are the two guys whoa re going to benefit the most from the new offense. TO be more specific, they are going to benefit from NASH.

Right now, they are playing with Morris and Duhon who are not ball dominant pg's. Whether that is by design or natural ability, I don't know.

But when Nash/Meeks/Kobe/Jamison/C are out there, I think Meeks will really free up.

He needs to have the one big game where he just lights it up and things will snowball from there.

We are going to need big bench play to win a ring. 12 points from the bench won't cut it.

Meeks: 8-12ppg
Blake:6-10 ppg
Hill: 6-10ppg
Jamison: 10-14ppg

those are the type of numbers I'd expect from these guys... Obviously we should count on 30ppg from these guys nightly, but I think all those guys need to be ABLE to do that

Ok, I'm rockin' the sig. Someone has to start it to get him out of this funk. We all know the power of the Garbage sig.

Thanks to fkmikebrown once again for the quick photoshop.

Really wish we could have somehow kept CDR. He'd be good insurance incase Meeks doesn't pan out. He's by far the weakest link in our rotation right now. Only reason he's playing is we don't have any other option at SG. If he doesn't pick it up we might need to play Ebanks at SG again. Which is not a good thing.

You guys never seem to learn your lessons with players. You guys wanted Pau traded, Morris to die, Jamison to be shot, now Meeks sucks, give it a damn rest and let these guys get their groove together for at least half the season.
