who do we NEED now?

Sign Ebanks and then what? do we really need anyone else? take into account $

I like this move..... finally a player that is young AND has potential.....

Nice to have at least one speedy player on the team..... He looks like a streak shooter but isn't one dimensional in that he can get to the basket as well....

Goodbye Goudelock?.....

I'm just wondering when I'm going to wake up at this point. This is a dream offseason.

- Not really a PG, more of a slightly undersized two. He played some spot minutes at PG for Philly, but it's not his strength.
- Great 3 point shooter.
- Solid, developing defender. He's tenacious and works hard, so while he's not the most gifted he makes up for it other ways.

As long as he stays consistent on his 3 point shooting I'll be very pleased. Our biggest weakness is lack of shooters. What's his ceiling? As high as Sefolosha?

No probably not Sefolosha, Thabo is one of the best perimeter defenders around. Meeks' ceiling is more like a poor man's Terry. Primarily a shooter, but with some passing ability.

Can he be our Ariza 2.0? Poor man's Terry doesn't sound too appealing LOL. But oh well I'll hold judgement till I watch him more extensively.

Wow Mitch and Co. has done a great job addressing all the weaknesses.

This summers our biggest needs were:

pick and roll defense(Dwight and Hill)
shooting(Meeks and Nash)
youth(Meeks and Dwight)
playmaking/floor general/ball handling(Nash)


i'm not saying Meeks is a great players or anything, but he's the type of guy that I think will excel here as being a shooter, and a spark off the bench. I think he'll offer great value for the price.

can't see us signing Barbosa for sure. Though I would have preferred him, Nash/Kobe/Meeks/Blake are taking all the mins, there is nothing left for him. I could see him in SA.

Kenyon will be interesting... but where does he fit, Howard/Pau/Hill/Jamison. Just like Barbosa, I can't see him wanting to be a bench warmer. Probably ends up in BK or OKC.

While Meeks is not some killer signing, it is a good pick. Very nice end to a VERY nice off season

Remember way back all of a month ago when people were screaming that the FO was sleeping away the off season?

He probably could really trade 100 dollars and get 200 dollars back, straight cash deal. Thats kind of amazing.

I don't know why Terry sounds unappealing the dude was 6th man of the year and I'm telling you Meeks could be that. He's not athletic enough to be Ariza.

No I meant defensively it sounds bad. Terry is always among the best bench players offensively but his D leaves a lot to be desired.

Oh I see. Well defensively he's no stopper, but he's not bad either. In some advanced stats he was ranked 2nd on his team defensively behind Andre Iguodala. He's a good defender, with room to improve.
