With Nash hitting him in the shooting pocket and most defenses collapsing on the bigs, I wouldn't be surprised if he hit over 40% for the season.

^^I hope that happens.... it seem every year we bring in shooters and they can't shoot here..... Maybe Nash is the difference maker..... however Meeks is going to be logging most of his time with Blake unfortunately.....

Nash/Meeks/Jamison in at the same time with D12 is the closest thing we can replicate to a look both Nash and D12 are comfortable with and can thrive in.

Floor is spread, paint isn't clogged, Nash/D12 can work the pick and roll and everyone else just sets up shop and waits for the freebies.

Looks very streaky to me ( even by a shooter standard) ... it's either swish after swish or bad miss one after the other ... Like his effort on D and he's a decend rebounder for his size

^Unfortunately, I believe that stat is accurate. Meeks did not finish at all around the rim; for instance, in the Clipper game, I remember him missing 2 point blank layups. Additionally, he did get off to a slow start, but hopefully that does improve.

at least he got to the rim and was being aggressive then last preseason games. I think his 3 point will be around 49% + or - 1% IMO and will get better at the rim as he shoots the 3 more and guys have to close out on him and can use their momentum against them and attack the rim and either score or easy drop off pass to the center.

mid season well be happy with all the lakers. at fist will def be frustrating...very frustrating I'm sure

1 – NBA rank for Meeks in spot up shooting, as he hit 53.3 percent of his field goals, enough for 1.46 points per possession, according to Sports Illustrated and Synergy Sports. That beat out fellow gunners Steve Novak, Kyle Korver, Mario Chalmers and J.J. Redick. That's a big reason the Lakers signed Meeks in the offseason, with players like Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash to draw attention before a kick out.

Phil Handy: Jodie handles the ball better than people think and he's more athletic than people understand. I didn't realize he was as quick as he is. I knew he was a good shooter coming in, but I've stressed for him the ability to knock down mid-range jump shots off one- and two-dribble pull ups, in addition to being able to hit floaters off the dribble. Opponents are always going to run out at him because they respect his J, so we want to help him add that counter move, like Ray Allen has in his game.

I like Meeks. If Kobe's down, Meeks needs to be the starter at the 2, not Ebanks. And while I'm personally not opposed to seeing Meeks at the backup 1, it's not going to happen in a million years with Mike Brown. The guy loves Steve Blake like no one ever has. He's not high Meeks from what I can tell.

I was watching the Lakers channel a few days ago and I don't know how recent it was, but they interviewed Meeks (paraphrasing here) but he said.....

It's hard to get in a groove when you don't know how many minutes you will be playing and if you are going to be playing that night. He'd rather there be a set rotation so that he can get in rhythm, but it's on him to stay prepared.

Nights like tonight just make you wonder just how much Brown's rotations effect the players before they even get on the court.

LMAO! Why would you wonder that? What's the point of utilizing Meeks in the way he was brought here for and getting him into a rhythm when you can play Kobe 40 minutes on a bad foot in the 2nd of back to back games. Silly you! :man10:
