Given continued playing time those shots should eventually fall in. And once they do, watch out!

The late crew at Staples will need some orange paint and a ball peen hammer to round the rims out after that performance.......

Played solid D ... I'm not surprised by his poor shooting .. always has been as streaky as a shooter can be

yea i think he's a bit in his own head right now too. i noticed after a couple misses, he would look frustrated and down on himself. just gotta play through it.

He's still working out some of the rust. He needs to stay confident and keeping shooting regardless of misses and hopefully he'll get in rhythm soon.

Meeks has to make shots, period. If he isn't, he will be gone for good.

He is here to shoot and hustle. There is no ifs or buts, do or die.

It seems like I've seen him make like two or three shots over that last few games, while feeling like he's taken like eight a game..

Well we wanted Meeks to get some burn.. I'd venture to guess that under D'Antoni he will be a focal part of the bench since he is our only shooter.

I really hope he starts making some shots.

i feel bad watching him so far. zero confidence out there. not sure why this tends to happen to guys the lakers hire for shooting purposes. he's getting some clean looks.

This is eerily similar to how Steve Blake's Laker career started. People were saying he needed time to pick up the system and once he does he'll be fine. Well that never happened. I hope it's different this time.

I don't think it's similar at all. When Steve Blake first came to LA he was getting plenty of PT behind Fisher, his shots just weren't falling and he wasn't being the player we all expected. With Meeks he went from DNP-CD to playing 15 min per game, so it's likely he's just rusty and over thinking everything. I still believe we'll see the shooter we all know he is, it may take a game or two for him to adjust though.

Well with our new head coach, it might play to Meeks strenghts to play in a spread floor offense. That's one positive aspect of the new hire.

It sure will, he just needs to hit those wide open shots. The past two games he's been having really good opportunities to score but they haven't been falling. Hopefully with a more consistent rotation those shots will start falling his way.

This is one guy I'm confident 'Antoni will put in position to succeed, will get tons of open shots, so he better start knocking them down, he's pretty much our only shooter other than Kobe and Nash and Nash isn't going to be passing to himself for open shots.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lakers changed their starting line up to:

Nash
Meeks
Kobe
Gasol
Dwight

or

Nash
Kobe
Jamison
Gasol
Dwight

Why every good three-point shooter that comes to LA all of a sudden loses his abillity to shoot the three? Is that a curse of some sort !?

The curse put on Meeks was Mike Brown.

Enough with the excuses for this guy. He's just playing horrible basketball, plain and simple. I cringe every time he touches the ball :disagree:

It is one thing to brick shots.. but to lose the damn ball every time you touch it? That is unacceptable.
