Welcome back Farmar, for vet minimum only this was a great deal ! :jam2:

He actually did play well for the Nets before left for Turkey. Here is the stats for Farmar with the Nets on his previous last season :-

39 games, 21.3 mpg, 10.6 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 3.3 apg, 0.6 spg, 47% FG, 44% 3FG, 17.4 PER, 59% TS

All career high on ppg, FG%, 3FG%, PER and TS% :man4:

Anyone here excited ? :man13:

Here we go- getting the team back together! Glad to finally have some good news.

After dealing with Duhon, Morris, and company this is an improvement.

@KamBrothers: He's more productive than most minimum guys, and in a nice change of pace is in his 20s. BK RT @wikibedia00: Like the move?

This is my take, not gonna do better for one year minimum deal.

At least Farmar will take the ball to the cup instead of dribbling underneath for an open one, out to the perimeter and pass it to someone [roll eyes].

Oh man I am so sick of seeing that, I swear Blake couldn't have attempted more than 10 layups the entire season. After Farmar left and before Sessions came I forgot what it was like to have a pg that attempts layups. Then when Sessions left, I forgot again, other than the occasional Morris layup.

Agreed.. Blake & Meeks for Ariza sounds great.. He only has 1 year left on his deal so he fits the rest of what we've been doing. Also frees up another roster spot. I think we can replace Meeks with Sasha & probably improve. Having Farmar, Ariza, Sasha probably makes coming back a no brainer for LO. I'd say it's a safe bet we also end up with Raja Bell.

Hopefully we're still able to get Brown as our 3rd string PG.. I think the position becomes a lower priority with Farmar replacing Blake, since Farmar isn't as big of an injury risk.. But hopefully we still look to do better than Morris.. I think we'd still look to add atleast 1 more wing, & if it was up to me we'd add 2 more.. McGuire & Stephen Jackson.

Nash/Farmar/Brown
Kobe/Sasha/Bell
Ariza/Jackson/McGuire
LO/Hill/R-Kelly
Pau/Kaman

That's a deep & balanced roster.. We have Sasha & Bell to play SG while Kobe is out & then enogh depth at SF for Kobe to not have to play more minutes because he's covering minutes at SF.. Call me crazy but this team is better than our team last year..

He wasn't awful last season, so hopefully we can flip him for a swingman.

Now just sign Sasha and trade Meeks and/or Blake for a SF

"I've been a Laker since I was born," Farmar said. "I grew up a Laker fan, so regardless of where I am or who I'm playing for, or what I'm doing in life, I'm always going to stay connected to what's going on here [in Los Angeles]."

...but just being over there and staying up until 2, 3, 4 in the morning and watching every NBA game, or watching the Lakers go through what they were going through was just tough.

"I missed my family, I missed being home and, ultimately, I missed being a Laker."

"I think it will be an amazing feeling, man," Farmar said. "At the end of the day, I'll always feel like I'm a Laker, regardless of I'm here or somewhere else. I'm happy just to be back and to be able to help this team go wherever we can this year and I would love to be here for the future, so we'll see how it works out."

so likely, farmar, sasha, lamar

trade hill (with blake maybe?) and hope to get a 1st round pick from a middle of the road team not tanking and bank on a couple of injuries/ poor play to get into the lottery

I don't understand why people keep suggesting we trade Hill. Besides Kobe he is he one player I would want on this team beyond this season.

Wow.

I think he's matured a lot and I love his attitude. God, it's nice to know there's some people out there that still value the Laker name and the team...

Kaman and Jordan? Welcome aboard. I'd go to war with those guys over Dwight any day.

Now that's a guy that wants to be a Laker and would pour his heart and sole into the team now, unlike someone else..

I can't wait to see him play now.

Now that's the kind of stuff I love to hear "I was born a Laker, I took less money to be a Laker", even if we aren't good he wants to be here and a part of this franchise. I have to think he remained a Laker at heart even after he left to pursue more playing time/a starting gig, especially winning 2 titles here. Who knows, if his game is still solid, if he's matured, and had a good season, maybe he even stays here as a backup beyond this season.

Yep ... I definetely think he can be a rotation guy on a championship team ... he can be an asset for a trade later depending on our future needs but we shouldn't be in a rush to move him
