And I wouldn't be too surprised to find out the Lakers were trying to move Blake.

Blake wouldn't be a bad expiring contract for a team that needs a quality PG - not a great PG, but a decent one. They might be looking to move him with the Farmar signing, maybe to get a SF?

Utah needs a backup PG after trading away Foye and not retaining Mo and they have a logjam ish @ SF/SG with Burke, Hayward, Carroll, Williams and a few others. Rush would be ideal target for us, expiring but risky due to his season ending knee injury last season.

I hope this buyout doesn't end up killing the deal... Farmar was always a bit of a disappointment in that he never ended up being the starting PG we always were hoping he'd be. But he turned out to be a solid backup and was an integral part of a strong bench - remember when we had one of the best benches in the league? Wow those were the days.

I think that'd be a great trade for both sides actually. Good call. I wonder if they'd be willing to do it. They're tanking anyway right? And at 28 it's not like Rush has a whole lot of potential for them to develop in a rebuild.

First things first, we have to finalize this buyout.

Is Rush a combo SG/SF? I haven't paid attention to him much.

^ Rush is 6'6" and fairly athletic (before injury). He's mostly a SG, but with SF type handles. He's a great shooter and an okay defender.

Perfect fit for us actually.

I overall like the move. Blake and farmar can play the 2 while kobe is hurt.

Blake at the 2 is like dumping blood into the ocean and then jumping in the middle, with a suit full of fish chum on it.

Teams will feast on that.

I like the Brandon Rush move. I can definitely live with, Farmar / Rush / Sasha backcourt.....

That's actually really nice.

@KevinDing: Lakers still working on finalizing Farmar's Turkish buyout. Kaman hasn't signed yet either, but maybe later today.

Dang, how hard is it to work a buyout, pay up already Lakers, TWC is paying the bills anyway. :man12:

I'm guessing the Turkish team is trying to milk the Lakers.

Just give him up! We're saving you 10 million dollars!

It was suggested closer to the top of this page, and some other threads I believe, that we trade Blake for Brandon Rush. I like the suggestion, if the Jazz would do it anyway.

Yeah nothing has actually happened on that front. I suspect the Lakers will move Blake as soon as they ink Jordan to his deal.

But who knows when that'll be and honestly I think they'll try to just shed salary instead. So I'd expect more likely that Blake is gone for a 2nd round pick or something.

Would like Blake, Meeks, and a second for Rush. Then we can sign Sasha and give CDR a chance at a spot.

John Black on the radio today made it abundantly clear we haven't made this happen yet and it's becoming a long an sticky process.

I think it still happens, but don't hold your breath on it. Black made it sound like they were wading through red tape.
