Jordan Hill Discussion: Cleared to play (66)

I would have Jordan Hill play 10-15 minutes at C position..... leave the PF 20 mins or so for Jamison

I'm not understanding this. Since when does being a hustling, extra effort, aggressive, defending, rebounding, making the plays push over Pau doesn't make, machine not qualify as a legitimate 4?

Wasn't dantoni' Pheonix Suns' weakness that they didn't have tough defenders? Wasn't that the one thing that would keep them from winning a championship? So it's the Lakers turn now to have an offensive machine with a weakened defense.

Who's going to protect D12 when it gets tough in the paint and opposing bigs are hard fouling him? Or when he gets in foul trouble, which he is prone to do?

todays 4 usually need some shooting ability ... Randolf, O'neal in his prime was capable, Timmy has gotten better, Pau, usually you need some shooting from your C and PF combination and if need to play Gasol at 5 some times Hill gets pushed to 4 and he needs to shoot consitently, he doesn't ... MDA offense needs shooters ... simple as that

Hill can hit 5-12 ft jumpers. He plays better D and rebounds much better. When they play hill and howard together good things happen. They only play a few minutes here and there, but its worked. Doesn't mean hill has to play 35 min a game. I just think Pau would destroy most 2nd units in the nba and it would make the bench strong. Jamison starting isn't a bad option either, but he's a chucker and makes pau look like a Defensive player of the year

One of D'Antoni's bread and butter plays is the Pick and Roll. Jordan doesn't have good hands or anticipation so he seems to not do well in P & R plays, I remember at 2 times in last nights game where Kobe found him but he fumbled it out of bounds or he was looking at the rim while the pass was heading his way and it headed out of bounds.

D'Antoni's gotta use him in spot situations, use him as a defensive substitute

Hill’s defensive energy and recovery in the PNR is the 2nd best on the team to Dwight.

I'd love to see Pau get the minutes LO got at PF with Hill keeping the backup C minutes. Tawn will be getting minutes at SF so it can work & hopefully keep all of our bigs engaged.

no more Jamison at 3! just give Jamison more minutes at the 4 and play Pau at center more with Jamison or Hill next to him. Dwight will be just as good with Jamison or Pau next to him imo

whaaat no way we can trade Hill. I know hes not playing right now, but we're gonna need him. Its a long season. Im sure D'Antoni will find a role for him while cutting down Pau's minutes

Hey man, I love Hill. But, if he ain't playing in Dantoni's system, he's useless to us. He can fetch something decent, he showed more than enough last playoffs and pre- Pringles games.

you do know his go to move is posting up.

hes gonna clog the paint, i dont know where u get the idea that howard/hill combo would be efficient, itll be worse.

hill should come in when our bigs arnt producing or providing the energy we need.

I could see our dealing Hill in a couple months to get another shooter if he still isn't playing in this system.

Jordan Hill, Devin Ebanks, Earl Clark to Phoenix for Jared Dudley and Jermaine O'Neal would make sense for both teams - we could probably score our second round picks back, too.

As a matter of fact, I'd probably do that deal right now and then sign Kenyon Martin. He'd be a very good fit for this running system. Blake, Meeks, Dudley, Jamison and Martin off the bench would be pretty perfect for us.

With Pau out Hill should see a decent amount of playing time, hopefully he can contribute like he has in the past.

I'm expecting a double double from Hill tonight. He is playing against his former team.

I think that if it really comes down to it, we may need to consider trading Pau to Toronto for Jose Calderon and another player...because I feel like Jamison/Hill is exactly what we need from our 4 spot...and really we just need a consistent PG and another wing player off the bench to take the heat off of MWP and Nash....

9 points and 9 rebounds in 14 minutes is ridiculous production. He needs to get at least 15 minutes a night.
