Jordan Hill Discussion: Cleared to play (66)

i feel sick.

Terrible terrible news, I wish Hill a quick and successful recovery. He was our best bench player so this is definitely a blow to our team, perhaps it's time we start looking into KMart? Does anyone know if the NBA has an IR where it will allow the Lakers to free up another roster spot?

How are we supposed to win games at all now...

Man, if we had our draft pick, we might as well have rested Kobe/Nash and tanked. Seriously... someone jinxed our goddamned season. This is the worst combination of bad luck.

That literally might be the worst bench in the league. Pau needs to be moved immediately. Nash/Kobe/D12 can handle the starting unit.

Add in MWP being absolute trash right now, Pau being a lock to contribute nothing and D12 dealing with injuries, that bench + what I just said is a disaster.

Call it getting what we deserve just like Miami got theres in 2011.. This is all on the fans here in terms of why the rest of the league is cheering this. Way too cocky we were that's for sure.. Snoop on 1st take saying we'll see you in June etc.. guess SAS and Bayless are right after all and we are the misinformed ones. Pride comes before the fall that's for sure.

and how did we deserve this? I don't recall a pre season championship parade, and quotes like "not 1, not 2...".

So now he can be place on IR, and we can add another player, right?

It is simple. They should add Martin, cut Ebanks, and sign West.

Maybe even bring in Scott Skiles for defense. But a shake up is needed -- THIS WEEK.

What's your problem? It's a comparison. Relax.

Both teams struggled with injuries. That's all I'm saying.

Hopefully the Lakers can still find a way to make the playoffs.

like some of you mentioned...sign kmart if he is avaible...

i am really sorry about Hill...he was one of our best players this year....but he is lost so we need another solution.....i dont think Clark is one so we need to sing someone else....i dont like Martin at all but he could be that one who we need right now

The way that you bring the Cowboys into the majority of your posts annoys me.

really feel bad for the guy, started to become one of my fav. players this year. This season BLOWS!

To me, this was the worst news of this snake bitten season thus far. I was sure Nash would eventually get better even if it took a full 8 weeks. Dwight's new injury is a bummer but he should recover.

But to lose Jordan Hill, our most positive energy providing player - well, it's symptomatic of this season. Just when I was ramping back up some hopefulness that we could turn this thing around, make a run out of it and maybe surprise everyone by going deep, we get hit with this bomb.

Given Pau's ineffectiveness because of injury this season, the system and his own decline, Jordan Hill was the glue guy for the team that could fill in the holes. He could sub in for Pau or for Dwight and bring you the same thing - energy, rebounding, hustle, desire and just get after it.

Without that I don't see us making it there. Forget getting over the hump, that was always a supreme long shot. But we won't even get to that point without Jordan Hill. We just don't have anyone that I can see taking his place.

Earl Clark has been a pleasant surprise, and he's done well . . . but I just don't have a ton of faith that he can keep it up. Maybe he'll continue to surprise and help us get to the playoffs . . . no one knows, got to play the games. But . . .

I'm very sad for Hill, and for us as Laker fans. We are going to miss the guy so much this season. You ALWAYS need a guy like him who can provide a spark and never gives up.

Clark isn't Jordan Hill. Even though he came here with a reputation as a "defensive specialist", he's more of a poor man's Lamar Odom. He can defend, rebound, shoot, make plays for others, etc. Which isn't a bad thing, but we have enough shooting and playmaking. We need the defense and hustle Hill provided. Clark does a good job of that, but not at Jordan's level.

^^ I absolutely agree. Pleasant surprise, but nowhere near what we were getting from Hill, IMO as well.
