But how great would it be to make this epic run to the Finals where everyone finally starts healing up and we get there with Gasol, Nash, Kobe, Howard, Hill, Metta, and Blake all finally ready to go at the same time? :man10:

It would be EPIC if players started coming back on the lakers through the POs.

It would be like getting a video game POWER UP each round ha ha

Gasol back in Round 1, Dwight fully healed by Rnd 2, Hill back in Rns 3, etc.

Would love to see a Cinderella story from the Lakers, usually the marquee team of the NBA. That would go down in history!

At any rate, I think this is great news. I'm a big fan of Jordan Hill and I'm stoked to hear that he's recovering well and ahead of schedule. He's such a great energy player for us.

I want him to focus on his strength training this summer. Go work out with Dwight for the off-season Jordan.

He, like most "hustle" players, gets dinged up REALLY easily. The best way to combat that is to train your core muscles and work on muscle conditioning. If he's going to go all-out on every possession, he needs to be sure his body can handle that.

If there was one player we currently need right now, it'd be Jordan Hill off the bench.

His energy and defense at the Center is definitely something we're missing when Dwight sits.

Had he been healthy, a rotation of

Metta/Clark
Clark/Jamison
Dwight/Hill

is really, really strong. Sorry Pau, but you're the odd man out.

This thread was so far buried I posted this below yesterday in the first Hill thread I found about the Lakers deciding not to use the injured player exception. Maybe they knew something might be possible with him?

"Too bad I was in and out of my car but just heard bits and pieces of Dr. Klapper on his Weekend Warrior show on AM 710 talking about Hill and heard the micro-fracture term used. I'm thinking WTF?? Knees?? But I heard enough before having to get out of the car again to hear him say that Jordan's hip area had some bony protrusions a little above the cartilage and how they do the drilling of the tiny holes to let blood and material seep in to allow them to be covered and protected.

THEN.... he said something, apparently adding to something I missed earlier, about not being sure if it would be a good thing, or too early for Jordan to attempt to come back for the playoffs. So maybe Jordan is making enough progress that he thinks he may be able to play still this year? "

I trust our medical staff. If Hill makes enough progress that they trust him, I'll trust their decision.

If we make the playoffs and he comes back just in time to play the 2nd round... That'd be amazing. Even for just a few minutes a night, a body is better than nothing.

His energy and rebounding would be great when we get tired in the playoffs.

But I also hope he took the time to learn to play better help defense and to not make mental mistakes (like silly and-1 fouls).

With our team playing better overall, I hope it catches on and we'll see him next month. :jam2:

I love J Hill but if he's getting mins, then Pau isn't.

I don't want to put things so much on Pau because there a lot of factors involved in our recent surge, but since he's gone down is when Dwight has really stepped it, Jamison has played consistent ball, and our O just looks much more fluid.

Again, maybe its a conincidnce, but in this system with this group of guys, Pau is just not a good fit. Hill/Jamison/Clark/MWP all splitting those mins is more effective. Other systems, Pau and Dwight would beast. But with the way we play, Pau congests things.

Since Pau is coming back, he'll be getting all the back C mins and a lot at PF- not sure where Hill fits unless you cut Jamison's mins or move him into the starting 5 for Clark (give him mins at the 3) and have Hill get backup some PF mins next to Pau.

trading Pau for a stretch 4 and a defensive SF who can stroke is what we need to do in the off season... Hill deserves big mins off the bench.

As much as I love Earl's energy and hustle, Hill is right there with him, consistently.

Moreover, Hill provides a better defensive presence and controls the boards with Dwight out. That's what we need right now.

I hope he gets back, especially if by some miracle we get deep in this playoffs/finals. He has a lot of heart.. fun to watch.

Need to light a fire under Pau's butt, not winning anything without him playing very well.. long stretch at best but it really depends on him.

Clark would be the loser in the minutes battle. Hill should be out there with Gasol when D12 is on the bench.

Be nice if Hill was back in time for facing OKC or SA in the playoffs. Having another mobile, hustling big against those guys will be huge.

I hope Hill don't rush back ... this season is a lost cause , no need to risk another injury/ further damage the current one
