perfect post, this should be quoted whenever a cheap player is signed or traded for as a backup.

think Kwame for example, we wanted him to be great back then. but what if we only needed him to be a backup? then he would have been seen as serviceable (of course he made more $$ but thats another story)

Yes, I've watched several Rocket games this season. He isn't better than Josh. Last season Josh averaged 7 and 5.

Because the Lakers can just not pick up his option at the end of the season.

With Fisher, they would have had to pay him the $3.4M next season plus tax penalties.

The Lakers also got rid of a first round pick, and they did not get first round talent back in return.

Let's not get carried away about Eyenga. He's basically a raw version of Devin Ebanks. If Ebanks doesn't get any run, Eyenga certainly isn't. He'll be gone when the team doesn't pick up his option. He is merely filler and practice fodder.
