Oh good, I was confused. I usually use this handy little button to read threads Image and wasn't sure what was going on when I found myself on a page of new posts that included one of my own :man10:

Every team needs a garbageman/hustle guy... I think we resigned one of more active ones.

If anyone is interested....

I'm thinking there will be some good info on why he chose to come back to the Lakers for less money.

I wonder how the PF/C rotation will be...we start with Howard/Pau and is Pau gonna do what he usually does and goes to C and have Hill come in at PF or is Hill the backup C with Jamison at the 4 and Pau only plays with 1st unit or is it Pau, Hill, Jamison (I prefer this). I want to see how Brown handles this because I think all 3 can play together at the same time.

I don't think there is a need to move Pau to C anymore, unless the second unit is really struggling.

We have depth now, I'll take Gasol getting 28-30 "energetic" minutes a night, then 35 minutes with him loafing around and dragging at the end of the season. Unless the second unit is struggling for some reason, I think Jamison / Meeks can handle the scoring for the 2nd unit.

Hill is more than capable of taking on all the backup Center minutes behind D12. If he shows he can't, then move Pau there, but for now IMO we should be getting the big dogs (Nash/Kobe/Pau/D12) as much rest throughout the regular season, without going full Popovich on them.

Pau (30) / Jamison (18)
D12 (35) / Hill (13)

^ i want to give Pau a look at Center, he definitely plays well there. Even if it means 2-3 minutes per half there. Him at the 5, Kobe at the 3 + 3 shooters = 2008-esque insane offensive efficiency. That year in the 2nd unit sometimes we'd have Vlad at the 4, Sasha and Farmar in the backcourt next to Pau/Kobe on the floor, defensively they struggled but they'd put so many points it wouldn't matter.

It's not about who plays at C it's just about who gets the looks in the low post.. Pau can play PF & still get the post shots.

Maybe he cut them to look nice for his court date. Doesn't he still have one coming up?

I would think Pau sits 1st before Howard does since Howard does poop out as quickly as Bynum. So Jamison in and then Hill in later in the 1st and then Hill/Pau together.

Getting Hill back has rapidly become an afterthought. Retaining him was big for our bench. Having Hill/Jamison off the bench is not bad at all, especially considering we entered last season with a joke line-up of the pine.

I think Jamison/Hill is one of the best 4/5s in the league actually. Considering Jamison was 17/6 last season... I don't know if anyone in the league can boast our 4/5 rotation off the bench.

Hill put up impressive averages of 14.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per 36 minutes of play.

Perfect backup for Dwight! Maybe even see him play PF with Dwight at C...every board would be the lakers :jam2:

I'd rather not see him get much time with Howard. He's a perfect fit next to Gasol who recently has shied away from contact. Jamison is the far better fit next to Howard.

Hill is also a great fit next to Kobe when Kobe goes into shooter mode. A guy like Hill can get a lot of rebounds that way.
