Just A Rumor ?

Just A Rumor ?

Postby Lakers4PEAT on Wed May 21, 2003 2:30 am

My co-worker keeps telling me that Jermaine O' Neal has interest to play for the Lakers...is this bogus or does it have some truth to it? I just can't see him signing for $4.5 mill, he's only 24 and probably greedy for money.

When asked I am sure that a good % of players would say that they would like to play in LA, butwho wouldnt? Saying that he would like to play here does not mean he could make it happen. The only way to get a player of his calliber is to trade for him. And in that situation you only have two players that would even come up as a possibility. But if that is the case I trade for Garnett way before Oneil.

Jermaine is aight I like his intensity, and I like KG, but something about KG in LA wouldn't fit... But I dunno... Wait til Shaq's done before we get too young too soon... :man1:

yea... that's the problem. If we wait and a year goes bye and SHAQ's play continues to deteriorate we would be stuck with him. By that time also we would have already signed him a FAT extension and of course there would be no takers. Its a bad thing that we are talking about SHAQ being traded because he had a major part why we won in the past. We are just all frustrated with SHAQ and his work ethic and his commitment to the game during and off season. You would think 24 million dollars a year aside from his endorsements would be more than enough to get him up and early in the morning. If MITCH does decide to trade him he shoulnd't wait till another year goes by because that would just mean SHAQ will just be another year older and his body Three years older.

:man13: PULL the TRIGGER MITCH.... I dare you... LOL :man13:

Juan Dixon?? Nah he should stay where he's at.... He's good and all, but we need a guard that has more experience... That's what I think though... what about the rest of ya'll??

Maybe, if we can't get GP, JT, GA or Andre Miller then we might do well to consider him...

Andre Miller.... damn.. he was at a bad place at the wrong time. (maybe the right time for the lakers). We know he has game he had a bad year in a bad team. It wasn't too long ago when he was a promising young point guard. What he's like 24 years old, listed at 6'5" and some post-up skills for a guard. If I was the LAKERS I would pick him up. He's a big guard for Phil but I have one worry. If he had trouble running the offense for the CLIPS how would he do in a TRIANGLE offense.
Meaning is he capable of learning a tricky system? It'd be a little less pressure on him with the LAKERS since he won't be expected to run the show unlike in the CLIPS. If all else fails I'd grab him.

Andre Miller still has too much attention as a young prospect, but Antonio Daniels might and I think will be our choice @ PG. He is 6'4 and only 28!

OMH he's 28!! How time passes by fast... I always liked his style of play.. He doesnt draw that much attention and he's good at what he does... He's kinda quick, but he can get the job done here...

He might wind up as our bencher, with D-Fish still starting, but I think he has more dribble drive capabilities than D-Fish and he is certainly as good as Derek...

Daniels might be the way to go. Mitch says that the team needs to get more athletic, and we all know from his years on the Spurs, that Daniels can bring it. He can get his own shots and very quick. I also like his size.
