Kareem's Statue: Skyhook

the Clippers give us NBA fans a cheap. option for watching other NBA teams, so I don't mind them there. no matter how good they could be I dont think their ticket prices will reach Lakers levels any time soon.

When Lakers and Clippers play at home the same day, Clippers always get the early morning slot while the Lakers play in the prime time slot. Never will that change.

Jeebus, every NBA great is at this ceremony.

This Dick Lapchick guy made everyone's eyes just bug out.

I thought this was a Ceremony to put up Kareem's statue, not a Black Panther, white guilt Party.

You got that right. Jerry West was involved and had a part in it all.

I remember reading Kareem's autobiography and was a fan immediately after that. He was somewhat before my time unfortunately, so i don't remember seeing him play much if at all, i cannot remember, but he was probably a major turning point for me being interested in the NBA at all. Based on his autobiography alone, i have tremendous amount of respect for the man.

Of course i have seen tape of him play since and i may have seen some of the tail end of his career, obviously he has true legendary status. All time leading scorer I believe? No one will master the hook shot like him. A trailblazing pioneer for both the league and the sport in general.

Much respect to Kareem, and congratulations on the statue, it's looking good based on that one picture. I would like to re-read his book actually, not sure if i have it still or not.

Magic said the very same thing in today's presentation. He even said that alot of the times the media got it wrong and gave him the MVP, but it should have been Kareem's. Instead Kareem was just so selfless of a teammate that he never complained or brought attention to it.

My only regret is that I only could witness the tail end of the Showtime dynasty. But this organization is so lucky to have some of the very best to ever lace em up.
