Kobe Bryant Discussion:#3 All Time!

Pau is right; for Kobe to be out six straight days without practicing/exercising makes you a little curious to the serverity of the injury. I believe he'll still play Tuesday, though. Luckily, with the talent that we have, Kobe can probably get away without playing Tuesday or Wednesday, and we would still win those games; in this situation though, that's only to PRESERVE his health and make sure he's 100%.

Glad this is happening now and not May. They'll be smart & cautious with him in October. Still hoping we have him tomorrow night.

Id rather know the severity of the injury and the time he misses than them being super quiet about it (ala Bynum's injury in 2008). 9 of the first 11 are at home we might be ok if he were to miss the 1st month or so to heal up. We can afford to now. OKC aint gonna come out of the gates with guns blazing. San Antonio maybe, I dont see any other dominant West team

Obviously the injury is a bit serious. Just because this is Kobe doesn't mean he won't miss a few games, he is getting older after all. Injuries will come more often and the severity of them will be stronger than before. Hopefully he will be fine soon, but I think the staff is keeping it quiet so the rest of the league won't see a time table as an early opportunity to attack the Kobe-less Lakers.

Apparently he's part of a conf call for some business right now ...
Tzvi Twersky‏@TTwersky

Kobe Bryant, on conference call just now: "I'm trying to [get ready for tomorrow]. We've got a little thing called the season kicking off."

Tzvi Twersky‏@TTwersky

On same call, Kobe joined the Panini Group and NBA in announcing a multi-year extension of their (brand/League) trading card partnership.

Tzvi Twersky‏@TTwersky

Kobe: "I doubt that we (basketball) will ever catch soccer, but it's a formidable challenge.

I'll be optimistic and say he'll be playin no later than Friday (against Clippers).
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter
Neither Kobe Bryant (foot strain) not Jordan Hill (herniated disc) practiced today. Both are "day to day."

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter
In this context, the "day to day" listing for Bryant & Hill means we won't know until tomorrow before the game if they'll play.

Exactly! Typical Kobe messing with our emotions...when all eyes would've been on Nash and Dwight....now its back on Kobe. :man10:

Maybe hes "sitting out" to get these guys going? Pau and MWP have looked extremely complacent since the 1st couple of games.

When it comes to game time decisions, I feel like Kobe almost always goes out there.

Same here. If it was something more serious it wouldn't even be a game time decision, the decision would have already been made. I just hope they're not hiding something from us.
