:man10: Yes, I saw it. My favorite part of this post though is that nickname, all this time just calling him J.A. Adande when we could have been using that awesome and fitting nickname. Yet another LA reporter that doesn't even like the Lakers and is mostly negative.

One of my favorite nicknames. JackAzz actually blocked me on twitter after calling him that when I responded to his typical garbage articles he tweeted.

That's it, I have come to the conclusion that Kobe will always play at a high level until he is 40, these young players have nothing on the Mamba's IQ, & I mean NOTHING!

Small sample size theater, Kobe edition: on post ups he's shooting 63.6% and on spot up 3 pointers he's shooting 60%

He's also shooting 57.1% on shots out of isolations & is producing 1.33 points per play per @mySynergySports. Those are stunning numbers.

Sure does help when you have guys out there that demand attention......... Bryant is still one of the deadliest players 1 on 1 with space................

I suspect these numbers will continue as well......maybe not quite as high but with the additional space and teams struggling to give attention to him spacing wise he will have numbers worthy of MVP talk..... no doubt in my mind, especially once the TO rate comes down a bit for him which I think it will.....especially if they go the Jackson route and bring back a familiar offense to the scene again.

Just got to get winning now....... need more than Bryant playing at a high level to win in todays NBA.

The guy just keeps amazing me every single season, geeez.

What's annoying is people say he's 34 & old, simply ignoring the numbers and what he does out on the court, if you didn't know kobe, you wouldn't know he's 34 by seeing his impact.

he is playing on a very high level right now. absolutely great and if he was lebron james the espn crew would have sucked ride his..... but the fact that he is not no one cares really of the great numbers he puts up. that s a shame because right now i think kobe plays a mvp caliber season so far. keep it up kobe

I'd love for him to get MVP in his 17th season. I think it would say a lot about the younger guys who are in their primes right now and Kobe outperformed them.....

But let's be real, it's the MVP, it was already decided in the NBA rankings this offseason.

Yeah... They (ESPN? I think) even had the audacity to put up an "article" titled "LeBron is the favorite to win MVP again", or something to that extent.

Before the season started.

Whats funny is people have been saying even at his best Kobe is just a scorer, and will never put up rebounds and assists like Lebron. So far, at age 34 he is proving he can do just that.

Wouldn't that be crazy if he keeps this up? Nash could easily give him easly 6-8 freebies in the open court

A big reason he's shooting such a high percentage is he's no longer having to shoot a many bail out shots. Before he would shoot a crap load of them. And his shots election has been much better. Except for one or two heat checks I didn't recall too many bad shots.

What is the record for MVP latest in career (17th season, etc)?

To Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, the key factor in the decision had to be state of mind of Lakers guard Kobe Bryant.

“I don’t know what to say -- if Kobe isn’t happy, then that’s tough,” Aldridge said. “I have been getting word that he wasn’t happy with how things were going, and if he’s not happy, then your chances there are pretty slim -- as we saw with Shaq. … Everybody talks around the league, and there was talk that he wasn’t happy. “

I just don't see him winning another reg season MVP, even if he keeps this up.

I think we would at least have to win 5 more games than the Heat for them to not give it to LeBron...

The fact that Kobe is playing this well now that he's paired with Dwight Howard and two other all-stars is a great validation of what we've been saying for years: Kobe made his teammates better than people recognized, just by being an outstanding player.

Of course, it's early, so we'll still have to wait and see how this trend plays out over a larger sample size.
