I'm ok with Kobe sitting a few more games. At least he can teach Potato a thing or two about coaching basketball.

Good thing is more of MWP, Barnes and Blake to step up. They're playing good opponents last week and now so it will prepare them for the playoffs.

i dont necessarily think he's in that bad of a shape, im sure if this was a important playoff game he'll be playing...even tho we are trying to lock up the #3 seed, it's not a do or die game.

Team needs to learn how to walk without the Kobe crutches. Kobe can sit out for the rest of the regular season if it helps this team figure out how to play better.

Coach Bryant gets another game on the sidelines....let's go Coach!!!

This is a TOUGH Denver team though...we need to keep the pressure on the Clips and Grizzlies to stay ahead. I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe sat out Sunday as well....

Our next three games are very tough home games. If we can get a win tonight without Kobe hopefully he's ready to go against the Mavericks and Spurs. Winning these upcoming games could potentially secure the 3rd seed.

Ditto. Hopefully the 3rd seed is locked up by the last OKC game, so he can skip the away game at Sacramento and get a full weeks rest before playoffs. Same for Bynum/Pau.

Heck no!!! I spent 200 dollars to go to that game...

We should be able to beat Denver....but then again, we should have been able to beat Houston last week as well.

So does anyone still question why Kobe takes the pressure on him in the 4th?

Kobe has the Steel Testicles to take the pressure.

With another victory tonight, I don't think Kobe plays Sunday. Keep rolling the dice, more wins = more rest for Kobe.

Kobe moves to 3-1 as Lakers coach....I can get used to this...he's in everyone's ear during timeouts and dead ball situations...LOVE this Kobe!!!

I think we can afford to let him sit one more game....we can really get in the Mavs heads if we beat them WITHOUT Kobe!!! And btw, Lakers are officially back in the playoffs after tonight's victory! :jam2: :jam2: :jam2: :jam2:

I was thinking the same thing. I think they are going to get as much rest as they can for Kobe.

Kobe sitting in Phil's chair reminded me of this.

Yet as I watched him Monday, I could not help think how little it mattered and how right he is. He is not fading into the shadows. He does not know how to go out that way.[.]

He needs to get some games in before the playoffs start though, even if we keep winning lol. A rusty Kobe in the playoffs is probably just as bad as a little beat up Kobe.

Will probably miss the next 3 games

Late night reading ...

More and more it appears Kobe Bryant will be sidelined for more than just a handful of games because of a left shin injury. He sat out for the fourth consecutive game, watching Friday's contest against the Denver Nuggets from the Lakers' bench.

Bryant is likely to miss a few more games, too.

"You've got to walk before you can run," Lakers spokesman John Black said. "He is now walking pain free. The next step is for him to run. If he can run pain-free, then the next step would be jumping. If he can do that, he can start playing again."

Bryant is not ready to try running, according to Black.

"There's no timetable to put on it," Black added.

Bryant has tenosynovitis, an inflammation of the tendon sheath near where his shin tendon meets his left foot. He was injured when he was kicked in the shin during the first quarter of the Lakers' victory March 31 over the New Orleans Hornets.

The Lakers want him recovered from the injury before the playoffs begin later this month. They have six regular-season games remaining, including Sunday afternoon against the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks at Staples Center.

"We knew it was going to be a process," Lakers coach Mike Brown said. "We knew it was an injury where we didn't want to rush him back. We want to make sure we followed the right procedure. So, that's what we're doing. He's making progress."

Brown couldn't say whether Bryant might miss the rest of the regular season.

"I don't know," Brown said. "I went to (athletic trainer) Gary (Vitti), and asked if he could play (Friday). I said, 'OK.' I didn't ask about Sunday. ... I don't know if we have any other options because another Kobe isn't going to walk through the door.

"You go with what you have and play the game the best way you can."

The Lakers' upcoming schedule is taxing, with home games Sunday against the Mavericks and Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs before they face the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday in Oakland and the Spurs on Friday in San Antonio.

I think it had to do with Kuester more than Kobe.

In the 2 games that Kuester has been the HC, our ball movement has looked better than it normally does.

Don't miss him at all (yet). I like that we're playing better team ball instead of just ball watching.

Why would you get smashed for that, it's the truth, without Kobe the ball movement HAS to be better or we can't score because he's the only guy on our team that can create his own shot (well, Sessions too probably). Come playoff time though, no Kobe would mean we go nowhere, you need the star, you need that guy that can get you point when things get tight, that can create in a playoff atmosphere and, when the pressure is on, that's Kobe.
