He also started following Gasol again. :scurred:
I hope it was to talk smack about Spain and the World Cup.

According to Mitch, Kobe was ready to play towards the end of the season. So I'd say Kobe is 100% from his injuries.

I haven't seen this posted yet. Hopefully it is just a stupid angle or bad lighting plus the 2nd picture doesn't really look him... however if it is true Kobe has a long time to lose those extra pounds.

Ahaha, yeah I saw that earlier too... didn't know what to make of it. Anyway, it's the off-season and he's relaxing, giving his body some rest. Once training camp comes around and it's time to get down to work, we'll see him in tip top shape.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

Think Kobe will balloon up to 250, 260 easily once he retires ... In the meantime, there's still time til training camp.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Eh, if he has put on weight, there's nobody I trust to work harder or know has a more ridiculous work out routine to get in shape than Kobe.

In his interview in Brazil he looked really slim, at least his face. And you saw how he blew up a bit in his face last year when he came back. Looks a bit strange because you can see his abs there but a belly?! kind of a strange picture anyway :man10:

^^^ It's possible it's all tricks of light and shadow, because in the side angle picture he doesn't have a belly, but in the front view he appears too, while yes, somehow having abs at the same time.

Even if that picture is true, Kobe can get back in shape real fast. These rich athletes have the best nutritionist and work out coach in the world.

WHOA!! Mamba. WTF is that? :man4: Earn your money man. We have NEVER seen you look anything other than being in shape trying to be better the following season. Not to put too much stock in it, but I kind of figured maybe he pitched these desirable free agents who might have any doubt about what he could still bring, by taking them out on the court if they wanted…..to show them and kick their bleeps one on one. Hey I am Kobe glass is always FULL guy. But that is disturbing to see. :disagree:

Yeah yeah I know he can drop that in a matter of days, but wrong freaking time to have it surface. IMO.

Let's relax guys, for all we know it could just be the angle of the picture. If not, there is plenty of time to get it together.

Always drama in LakerLand :man9:

Might be another sign that he is not eating healthy, at his age he should be eating healthy to be in optimal shape.

OK have been in the car and hearing the Melo meeting is still going. Whether Melo is the "right" "perfect" big name to sign or not, he certainly would be intriguing and exciting to watch play with Kobe, Randle, Marshall or whoever "might" beat him out for the starting position and the best of the "in LA at least for a short time, but prety good players" that Mitch will assemble this year. Love to have 3 or 4 back from last year that are on the bubble.

All that said, Why The F*** was Kobe not able to have his schedule with planes and whatever else…..work out to be here in this meeting? Such a letdown if they want this guy. I am good if this is some last minute change, bumping the time of the meeting up to where it screwed Kobe's timing and logistics up. Is this what happened? Or did Kobe just not get it done at his end? This REALLY disappoints me he is not in there with them. If this is a guy HE feels he can actually work well with and compete with. I trust him. So, WTF happened….why is he not in there. All I heard in the car was now he is going to meet with Melo, last thing after the Knicks. FAIL. Should have been today. What happened please, if anyone knows real quick? :what: :what: :what:

Meeting was moved up because the Knicks will meet with him afterwards. Kobe is scheduled to meet with Melo personally after the Knicks meeting. Might be a blessing after all ... Kobe has the final pitch.

Oh. OK. Thanks :jam2: What, out here in L.A. Phillip & crew is going to meet today before the "4th" holiday break? I would imagine Melo is not jumping on a jet to hot tail it back to NY later for a meeting. It's out here afterward? That works in my head….not Kobe's fault. Yeah maybe it is a good thing. Kobe can then point out all the arguments and sales pitch where Phil is trying to use his "Jedi" powers on him because he knows the man. Still would have been better IMO in there during This meeting with Mitch, Jim, Jeanie, Worthy, whomever else and all of the energy in the room. :man5:

It's very possible that he just ate a big meal or something and is bloated. I'm sure he's gained weight as he hasn't played competitively for a while but I'm also sure he's bloated from eating while on VACATION.

Kobe has the best work ethic in the league. If he ballooned to Shaq weight, I would still believe he could get in shape before pre-season. His dedication to his craft and keeping his body in tip-top-shape is astonishing. If that is an accurate photo and he pulled a LO this summer, he'll get it under control. Also, maybe a little more weight will help in the post.

Yeah, he looks huge. :man11: Tricks of light and shadow like I said, I guess you can't have abs and a big belly at the same time. I can't believe how bad some here freaked out about that one photo. :man10:
