The guy is ridiculous....the fact that he just isnt scared/concerned to take responsibility like that is remarkable to me.

Whatever happens this year, his rep has gone up in my eyes because at his age, to be fighting every night like this...stunning.

I'll be honest...I'm not a fan of the way our offense closed out that game. I don't think anybody else even shot the ball the last what..3 1/2 minutes of the game. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we won but I think we'll be able to win a lot easier by moving the ball more. Although Kobe did mention that when they stay home on the shooters then it's his job to attack, so I guess he did what he had to do.

I rarely criticize Kobe too..

The problem isn't that Kobe isn't passing it's that people aren't moving around the way they need to. When they move, he makes the right play. A game or two ago he hit Nash for that big three.

But when he can CONTINUE getting his shots off effectively, he should. I think what they need to work on is having Dwight crash with him and have the others move around behind those two. Kobe can hit Dwight with lobs and it'd make Dwight feel better while getting a couple of better looks every now and then. It took Drew a while to learn this, but he got it eventually and Kobe found him. Gasol obviously got it immediately because that man is a genius.

He hit the game-winning basket too. Amazing.

He played an amazing game for the most part, but I do feel like he needed to let Nash run the offense a little more down the stretch. Not talking about the final play, but like the 3-4 minutes to end the game. All we did was ISO Kobe, which against a defender like Smith isn't really something smart to keep doing on and on, it becomes predictable and can lead to mistakes or inefficient shots.
I'm all for Kobe taking most of the shots to end the game, but I feel he would have it easier if Nash was handling the ball and making plays for him. Have Kobe play off the ball, run him through a screen for a catch-and-shoot jumper, post him up, screen his man and have him cut.. That way his attack is less predictable and other players are still threats with the ball in Nash's hands.
It's just a little too much to ask of him to play ISO against athletic and big defenders for 5 minutes and expect him to convert at a high enough rate so he can win us the game.

Still, amazing effort. Great drive to the basket on that last play, add another game-winner to his list.
IMO the energy for that dunk comes from his great determination. Never seen someone with such a drive and will. It's like for a single play of great importance, his determination enables him to overcome his athletic limitations, and push it to another level. It's incredible.

Good point, the other players need to continue to move on offense even if Kobe is taking the shots. Those last few possessions were not pretty, but I'll take a W at this point in the season.
