I'm just not gonna believe it til I see it, a lot of players, even all time greats, fall off when they get to as many years as Kobe has. Those guys will have to avoid major injuries, play with nagging injuries that will happen, declining physically, and score high consistently year after year like Kobe has.

how much longer til Tmac, VC and AI get to 30,000?

didnt show it on TWC

They didn't replay it but it happened during the game. I don't remember when but it was after a rotation Kobe missed, made basket for the hornets in the first half if I remember right since the hornet scored on the left basket.

i found it.. wasnt as dramatic as ding described

LOL is the title supposed to mean "dwight howard yells at kobe bryant for not rotating then kobe tells howard to go into the post"?
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.

Well, if he played another 4 or 5 seasons it's probably possible for him to finish at the top spot. But he's already gone on the record saying he won't stick around unless he feels good enough to play at the level he is comfortable playing and hanging around to average 20ppg would be a chump move for him. He'll probably finish a strong #3 barring injury or other unforeseen event.

If he hadn't have had to sit through two lockout shortened seasons he'd have a much better chance at finishing on top.

Congratulations to Kobe Bryant.

I'm glad I've been able to witness the whole journey.

It's been very fun to witness a guy who began his NBA career with a DNP and I remember he had even less minutes than Derek Fisher (fellow rookie) at the beginning of his rookie season. While playing just 7 games as a starter in his first 150 games (with a few DNPs) he began earning his minutes and becoming a valid candidate for Most Improved Player on 1998, and also got very close to winning Sixth Man of the Year. Afterwards he gained a spot on the starting lineup and did nothing more than keep climbing. Now he stands over 30.000 points and has accomplished almost everything some could have hoped for.

I am very thankful that the Clippers didn't have the guts to draft a high school player at the time and that the Hornets didn't trust him.

Younger basketball fans who won't know who Kobe is unless they look him up online will be like "Wow who was this guy"?, Just like we did Magic, Wilt, Jordan, Kareem, and others and wonder why the fudge cake does he have multiple everything else and only one MVP :bang: He's 34 and his body has pretty much told him eff you father time is calling me, and he's still playing and leaping like a 21 year old. It's Kobe's "mental" ability that's allowed him to lasts so long as well. His ability to ignore pain and fatigue.

I'm pretty sure LeBron will get to it, LeBron is what 28-29, shoot I don't know, he still has a while before he actually declines and I see LeBron working on his game as a perimeter player he probably knows his athletic ability won't last for as long ala Vince Carter, and there have been articles showcasing his determination to add more to his game so he can have a lasting career.

People forget he too came out of highschool straight into the NBA, straight into carrying the team as a teenager so his body will succumb to wear and tear eventually. But right now I watch games of him and he still looks pretty fast and athletic. D-Wade is not the same player he was years ago so eventually LBJ will have to take on the role again of being the main option helping his chances.

Kevin Durant can do it as well, he got to 10,000 points pretty darn quick himself.

It's way too early to put Durant in the 30K conversation.

Kobe Bryant needs 2,268 points to pass MJ for 3rd all-time. That's 13.8 ppg over next 2 years.

I think lebron can get it, if he doesn't fall off. His scoring has dipped some this season, but thats because of the high talent of that team. It will slow down the process though. Also, that 10-20,000 kobe got there so quick. He was on a scoring CLINIC in those years. Lebron is in that phase now, but not scoring as much as kobe did during that span. His first few years compensate for that though. He'll need to stay healthy and consistent. Can he do it? Who knows. Look at wade. wade is a great player, but he hasn't been healthy last year, and beginning of this year, and is averaging around 19 points on a low fg% this year. Some people lose to father time in the first round, and aren't lucky enough to stay healthy. Thats just what happens...

Funny commercial ... Kobe would be a decent actor ... I've seen way worse when it comes to face expressions and charisma in front of the camera

Yea that was a really dumb statement by Simmons. He's letting his hatred for the Lakers affect his analysis, which can't happen if you want to be a professional. Bring in SVG!
