Kobe Bryant Discussion:#3 All Time!

I wonder how the Bulls will defend him on Sunday, Thibs was the Defensive coach in Boston and they doubled and tripled him whenever he had the ball and played the percentages on others making their shots, I hope MWP, Meeks and co come ready to shoot. Dwight also needs to pay the Chicago bigs back for what they did to him when we were there

Nope. But LeBron's 6 consecutive games with 30+ and 60% shooting is worthy enough to have a 15 minute segment each night on sportscenter, first take, and any other other espn show. :freak2:

wow...I haven't been following the Heat but damn that's pretty awful.

LeBron may be the best all around player in the game by far but he'll always be in a class under Kobe and MJ

Didn't know that, guess it's nice for a change. But how is that indicative of the Most Valuable Player for the whole season? Yadddimean?

Yeah but it wouldn't be nice if Kobe had been balling all season, had us in the #1 seed, hit a bump in the road recently, and they bumped him down.

Then people (in here) would complain about including recent play in to the mix, rather than call it nice.

I think it's pretty clear that update was made for hits. I mean, it doesn't make sense and then they put it on their homepage? Yeah, clicks, hits, whatever.

It's not like they would have the frontrunner take a 5 spot dive because of a few bad games.. They aren't that impulsive... However if you are, say #3, and you have a rough 2 weeks or so and you lose a bunch of games, and #4 or #5 is really playing at a high level and winning a lot of games, it would be reasonable for you to go down a spot, wouldn't it?

You are the one saying it doesn't make sense. I think it does (I think he's a top 3 candidate right now, maybe not necessarily #2 but I don't really think there's much of a difference). The writer does too.
I don't think this bump to Kobe in the ladder is purely about "hits" or "clicks". That's just disrespectful to suggest IMO. The NBA.com staff is simply, like many of us basketball fans, amazed by what the man is doing for his team, by the type of performances he's coming through with, how he's willing his team nearer and nearer to the playoffs, considering the type of situation he's in and the fact that he's effing 34 on his 17th season, with mileage almost unmatched. They think all of that (like I do) warrants a top 3 spot in the MVP ladder. Few players in the league (no more than 2 IMO) are close to or as meaningful to their teams as Kobe has been so far.

BTW, every friday NBA.com updates it's MVP ladder, and on Fridays you can always find it on the front page :freak2:

how much of the media do you think actually watched the game, my guess is? less than half.

Of all potential voters? I'd say no more than 15% maybe.. They'll probably read about it or watch the highlights. Not the same thing but whatever, it doesn't make a big difference.

Again, this should be a player/coaches-voted award.

I'd have to agree. Always been my favorite player, and I truly remain to be as amazed by another player as I have been by him. I don't see it happening.

Not a bad title to have, MAP, Most Amazing Player :jam2:

Good god, that final what, 2 mins or so from Kobe was ridiculous and throwback-ish. He looked 26. Unbelievable. Huge, huge props to Kobe for coming up big. He's doing it all the past two games. Scoring, dishing and most importantly, winning.

9 turnovers, SMH. Not sure why the whole team is so sloppy in the early going but he has to clean up the turnovers.

And no, this performance does not change my mind about Kobe not being MVP this season. One home gme against the Raptors does not an MVP make. But it sure was an MVP like performance.

EDIT: then again, since it's Twitter idiotic talk - I don't how real this is.

Wait, why is she an idiot? Obviously she's not Laker fan but at least she can acknowledge the shot was amazing and she's distracted by Kobes performance. I wish i could distract her with my performance haha

Ask Porks about the difference of FTs in Thunder games, in particulary the # of FT's by Durant per game.

I dont know how they can keep giving the MVP award to Lebron when hes got another top 10 and borderline top 5 player right next to him. Isnt that why Shaq/Kobe won only once?

Next he is going to get 40/5/12...that's when he should call it quits cause obviously it would be a sign of rapid decline...
