His D looked better tonight than it has. MWP's D was horrendous. Meeks's, too.

he was facilitating more in the 4th and it worked. he looked supportive and they played better bc of it

Kobe should have stopped when he hit 29 points, then we would have won, because we all know when he scores 30+ it's an automatic loss.

I'm not really worried about that. That's 6.8 3FGA a game, which is certainly over the average, but if you consider many of those have come with the game virtually lost in an attemp for a miracle comeback, then I don't think it's something to worry about.

This season is Kobe's highest turnover average since 04-05.

Last year previously was his highest turnover average since 04-05.

Guess what hasn't been there these last two years? The Triangle.

I know part of this is because he's (unfairly) being asked to play point guard ... but it's not a coincidence.

Up until the Orlando game Kobe was averaging 26.9 PPG

Including that game he has averaged 35.5 PPG over the last 6 games (not including tonight).

His minutes have also increased from 37.0 to 39.0 MPG

Plain and simple this man is going to break down very soon and THEN we'll be completely screwed

i knew this was gonna happen the second d'antoni was hired. just listen to his press conference.

Q: On managing minutes for Nash, Kobe and Gasol:
D’Antoni: I don’t know yet, but we’ll see. I always start with great intentions and I look at the end of the game and I’m going, ‘Oh man, Kobe played 45. That’s not good.’ Then go to the next game, ‘Oh man, Kobe played 40. That’s not good.’ I think every coach worries about that. We have one of the best, if not the best medical staff. They know their bodies and they’re great veterans. We will watch that, and that’s a big key – to watch it. And hope that we can do that the best way we can.

He is already having back spasms. TNT showed a clip of him grimacing while dribbling the ball.
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

What else would you have D'Antoni do?

Trust Duhon to run everything? Trust Morris or Meeks to run everything? Kobe is ALL we have to create shots right now. Sad but true. What else CAN he do? We try to run through Dwight and we end up getting maybe a 1 per possession because he's either fouled or he kicks out and we can't hit a three. That's the majority of possessions right now.

Kobe can't play quite as many minutes, but that's why we should bring in West. It's not D'Antoni's fault that Kobe is our only option right now. Just the way it goes when major injuries occur to two of our top 4 and two legitimate shot creators.
