MJ's number is impressive though, considering he missed most of his 2nd season to injury (played 18 games), only played 17 games when he first came out of retirement, and was old when he was in Washington he really played 12/13 seasons depending on how you look at it, and then the 2 seasons in Washington. That's impressive compared to Kareem's 20, Malone's 19, and Kobe's 17/18. Wilts the same as Jordan at 15 seasons. Not really on topic, but I'm still always blown away by Magic's assist total considering his relatively short career.

Yeah you can't deny the number itself, but I wonder what the assist per game rate is or the assist per minutes rate. It'd probably skew Jordan closer to the top, but all-in-all those are impressive numbers from Kobe and Jordan.

Thanks t.

Yeah I kind of thought that would be the shake out. Still though Kobe very much dispels the "selfish" tag.

Kobe isnt selfish but he has tunnel vision and tends to go into "modes". He either goes into full pass first mode or scoring mode the majority of the time. He does have times were he mixes it up nicely but they are rare.

All in all though, those numbers Trodgers posted speak for themselves. Kobe gets the job done.

Now what's the record of those other players teams when they have x number of assists per game. Try to make it look like Kobe's the worst. I'm trying to get a job at ESPN.

Kobe REALLY looks good out there! He's in China right now for a Nike event. And he looks really good! Check out some of the clips here:

Thank you for posting this. Been chopping at the bit to get a little bit of Kobe even if its against campers.

The big thing with Kobe now-a-days is whether or not he looks like he's light on his feet. When he made his return last year against the Raptors that first game every move he made looked heavy and slow. In these videos he certainly looked quicker and lighter.

I can't get those videos to play.

edit- just watched them. He looks good, but it's an exhibition one-on-one against some random guy. :man10:

I want to see him at practice.

This is awesome, thanks! Kobe's like an effing Rock God over there, they love it when he hits on some of these moves. Looking good, just taking it easy. Kobe's loving it too. What a thrill for all the hot shot kids that get to get out on the court with the Black Mamba. (no haters now on Js elevation, he's just cruising out there)

HA! Kobe draining the long balls in the 2nd clip. Looks like he is trying or demoing some kind of wearable tech up high on both his arms on top of the shirt sleeves. Or something much simpler?

He actually looks really slim to me in that last video. Definitely much cooler than the stupid Instagram videos.

Still though... I'd rather see him cooking on Clarkson in practice or something. :man9:

Hmmm..... Apple is getting ready to come out rumored to be later in the year with some revolutionary new wearable gear and a new iOS platform called HealthKit. Serious monitoring capabilities for variety of important things depending on your needs. But what everyone is expecting is a "wrist' module, that most likely can slip in and out of different wrist bands for different looks and occasions. Maybe they have more than one form factor.

Kobe is one of the greatest players I have seen play in my life. He is an incredibly perspicacious individual when it comes to the game of basketball, and I applaud him for all of his efforts that he has done over the years. However, Kobe is also one of the most mercurial individuals to ever play the game, which I think in many ways, contributes negatively to the overall tone our team needs to set going forward.
