MJ's number is impressive though, considering he missed most of his 2nd season to injury (played 18 games), only played 17 games when he first came out of retirement, and was old when he was in Washington he really played 12/13 seasons depending on how you look at it, and then the 2 seasons in Washington. That's impressive compared to Kareem's 20, Malone's 19, and Kobe's 17/18. Wilts the same as Jordan at 15 seasons. Not really on topic, but I'm still always blown away by Magic's assist total considering his relatively short career.
Yeah you can't deny the number itself, but I wonder what the assist per game rate is or the assist per minutes rate. It'd probably skew Jordan closer to the top, but all-in-all those are impressive numbers from Kobe and Jordan.
