On lebron and nash's jackets.
Before long, someone recognized Phil Jackson sitting in the front seat, and then the rocks began to fly. Revelers pelted the bus and shook it, mocking the Lakers at their lowest moment.

It was painful,” Lakers forward Pau Gasol(notes) said. “It is a feeling that I want to keep in my mind for every single minute that I’m out there playing them.

For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Jellincon wrote:I think most of it comes down to Kobe's possessions in the post. For the past few games we have been running the O through Kobe in the post for like the 1st quarter but then we go away from that for large portions of the game (especially the 2nd half). In the 2nd half he's been running more pick n roll which he's still very effective at running facilitator wise but it hinders some of his scoring opportunities.

The new Kobe was used best against OKC where he spent practically the entire game in the post doing work against Sefolosha at an efficient rate and he was still able to rack up the assists. IMO the more he's in the post, the better he'll be able to balance the scorer/facilitator role.

This. And this:

I don't think Kobe passes to teach anyone a lesson about him at this point... I think he's passing because he understands that the team's psyche is dependent on him doing so. I agree he should shoot a little more often, but what he's doing is winning games, so I think it'll be fine.

I guess they left his 2008 regular season MVP off because he went so many seasons without getting one people forgot he actually won one. But that's a lot of darn individuals accomplishments

Kobe has 3 MVPs (not counting All-Star games): 2 Finals MVPs and 1 regular season MVP.

yes. and they left out finals MVPs, and gave him an extra regular season MVP. those MVPs are not the finals MVP trophies

those are the regular season MVP trophies. so if anything people should be praising them for giving him an extra MVP

Yes I've seen both trophies.

But the idea that they left off the Finals MVPs and gave him an extra regular season MVP just arbitrarily is silly. Not to mention the idea that in doing so, we should be praising them... Both of those ideas are just silly.

they were meant to be silly, they were jokes. what do i think happened. i think they gave him two regular season MVPs by accident and left out the finals MVPs. maybe they don't even count finals MVPs on the jackets.

the regular season MVP is represented IMO. but the finals MVP is not. but i won't say thats 100% until i see lebron's or duncans

So, off the current topic, anyone still questioning why Kobe continues to stick to the pg/passing gameplan, we have multiple quotes from multiple players saying why. Pau has talked about how they're better sharing the ball, Dwight has said he was upset with Kobe shooting too much, other guys have said they're happy with ball movement and Kobe trusting in them. So why he's sticking to it is we're winning and the team is a lot happier. Kobe's clearly doing this for the good of the team and most likely because he was asked to by teammates, remember this started after that big team meeting.

if it really is because of that team meeting, then that must have been impressively awkward.

I think its pretty clear that those are his finals MVPs. I have no idea why they would give him 2 mvps when he has one. That makes no sense.

why would they forget his MVP. that makes just as little sense. at the end of the day the MVP is a very distinct looking trophy. completely different from the finals MVP. since those MVPs are shaped like the regular season MVP i can only believe that those stand for MVPs. but have to see duncans and lebrons first since they have finals MVPs and regular season as well
