No Laker has done that since the 80s is what they said during the broadcast.

Kobe had a 49 point 10 assist game in the 08 playoffs, but I assume they were only talking about the RS

HOLY BLEEP .... KOBE!! Just unreal. Especially with the painful shooting arm and his typical disregard of that kind of mortal obstacle.

Kobe did it 4 other times in his career. Last time was December 2009 vs. the Warriors when he went for 44pts and 11 assists.

He's also done it in RS before. He had 44 and 11 against the Warriors in 2009, 45 and 10 against the Wizards in 2006 and 44 and 10 against the Sixers in 2002.

yep. First player to post a statline like that while shooting 67% in 50 yrs. Goes all the way back to wilt.

This guy is the best player in the league today. I honestly think so. You look at how he just seems to grab games by the throat and DOMINATE in recent games, like in dallas and now this, has me as a FAN of kobe, completely SHOCKED! He was playing exceptionally well to start this season. But if u were to tell me he'd take it to ANOTHER level, even I would've said it would be damn near impossible. Now he's dominating like i've hardly seen in recent years!!! The fact that he's done something no one has done in 50yrs, having the 42/12/7 on 67%, at age 34?!?!?!!, is truly astounding. Mamba, never ceases to amaze me.

Seriously. That was one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen. Now maybe the haters will STFU for a while. I hate to be pissy, but that right there . . . that is Kobe Bryant. That's the will of a real warrior. The guy is coming off a gnarly, painful injury to his shooting arm from just last night. And then he goes and drops this line and wills our team to victory down by 18 to start the fourth. No one can do what this guy does. Just enjoy it everyone. It won't last forever.

Could you please do a picture of Kobe with a " Do it for Dr Buss" theme when you have some time ?

This is obvious Kobe is on a mission since it happened

Saw only 4th quarter so far ... but I like when he plays this type of basketball ... top of the key, gets a pick and creates something instead of him backing up on the right wing ... wish he would do this more often ... great game by Kobe

Here are the top 5 Kobe quotes of the night after a heck of a comeback win ...

1. On the team's makeup: "We’re like Sybil. We just seem to be two different teams out there sometimes."

2. On how the season has gone: "We’re certainly much tougher now than we were at the beginning of the season. Adversity does that. It can do one of two things. It can break you; if you have a weaker mind it will break you. But, if you decide to let it build you up, make you stronger, that’s what happens."

3. On how memorable the comeback was: "If I got to remember this game years from now, my career’s got issues."

4. On when he thought the Lakers went from having a chance to win to being a lock to win: "I believed that we were going to win it the whole time. The most important thing for me was to bring my teammates along with me. I had to force the game upon them a little bit and force the momentum, get everybody believing that we could do this thing together."

5. On the locker room atmosphere at halftime: "We didn’t really say much. I certainly didn’t say much. I just talked about looking at this as an opportunity. Looking at it as a challenge and taking it head on. We just went out and just took it play by play."

Yet as I watched him Monday, I could not help think how little it mattered and how right he is. He is not fading into the shadows. He does not know how to go out that way.[.]

Only 2 years left of this? :man6:
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.
