Kobe Discussion: Happy with the FO effort (806)

God damnit Kobe better not play. I'm actually looking forward to seeing how this team functions without him for an entire game.

Kobe's toughness knows no limits but he really should just take the game off.

Kobe will play... because... he is Kobe.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Makes no sense. With our without him, the Lakers are not winning tonight. They can't beat a scrub Atl team who was also on a back to back, they will get wasted against an actual title contender.

Sure, they could get lucky and hit 20 3s, but I don't see it. If Dwight gets into foul trouble, Hibbert will have 40 points against Clark, Jamison, and Sacre.

He should just rest and let Nash run the team for improvement purposes. This is a loss any way you slice it.

Don't underestimate the power of inspiration. When your leader has an ankle the size of a tennis ball and opts to play, that must ignite something to the rest of the team. Not saying we're gonna win, but if Kobe plays don't count us out

More lessons by example for Dwight and rest of the team. Nothing less than everything you have to give. This season. Right now. Jordan didn't do this even did he? Not to this level of repeatedly playing through serious injuries with absolute minimal time off. I don't think anyone in the history of the league has?

as long as he isn't playing 38+ minutes then fine i guess..kobe has never ceased to amaze me but his health over the next month is much more important than one away game in indiana

Yeah, tell that to Kobe.

Actually I do agree that it might be wise to just rest the ankle tonight, but I cannot help but be happy if he plays.

The good thing about him playing is sending a message. Now it's business and we need to play through whatever in order to win. No excuses. If you can walk, you can play.

This is more than likely a message to Dwight about playing through injuries that 99% of the league wouldn't play thru.

Almost borderline irresponsible...especially if this was a grade 3 sprain. But then again, if he plays....no way humanly possible it's a grade 3 sprain...which evidently proves, this dude ain't human!

Dwight is playing through a torn labrum and returned early from a surgery that involved cutting open his back and exposing his spinal cord.

Jason Smith of the Hornets has a torn labrum and is out for the season, D12 is putting up double doubles. :man3:
