Kobe Bryant Discussion: Reason for Lakers downfall?

i dont think he'll keep the 50-40-90 up throughout the season, but it looks like he improved his 3point shot imo. looks more fluid and has some more arc i think. i think he'll have a better 3point shooting year and i think his FG% willl improve with Nash and how hes been taking more efficient shots. i hope it stays 50-40-90 but i think itll be more like 47-39-88 which is still awesome.

and the knicks are playing pretty well, but it isnt only bc of carmelo. hes not been too efficient so far and the supporting cast has really been playing well. i mean JR Smith is balling...18ppg and shooting 74% from 3 so far this season. Felton meshing well with them. Sheed too has been impressive considering.

Good game, some great plays. He didn't shoot as efficiently from the field, but he was 10-11 from the line.

Now his shooting averages are: 53% FG, 41% 3pt FG, 92% FT.
Still amazing, especially considering that he's currently leading the league in scoring with 26.8 a game (on 17.7 shots a game, his lowest in a long time)

Liking his game this year. Efficient. Getting to the line a lot. I expect the percentages to normalize over time. Interesting fact is Kobe has never shot over 50% EVER. I think when his percentages normalize, it'll be more like 46/36/85 averaging 25-5-5. Still pretty good and way better than last year. I would HOPE that he gets in the 48-50% range though....and his 3s still around 38-39% and ft's in the 88-90% range. Mamba is on a mission this year!

Its going to be really interesting where Kobe's numbers go when Nash comes back into the mix.

Math is a b****.... reversion to the mean....

Kobe might improve on last years percentages by year end but he isn't going to keep shooting over 50%....

WTS... I do like his shot selection this year. Keeping him in motion does wonders. He's going to the hoop more and hitting the touch floater a lot more this year than last. His legs are fresh and maybe his hands have finally healed a little as I don't see a lot of the mishandling of ht ball like last year either.

Another excellent game. Nice distributing and kept the turnovers down, and he shot the ball pretty well too I think he chucked a few shots in garbage time.

I think I'm pretty good at math.

-Less iso + more off ball movement + more drives to the basket = more efficient shots + x(freethrows)

It's not as hard as it looks :man1:

I'm really glad a lot of people are finally appreciating the efficiency with which Kobe is playing this year.

Way too many people who disregarded the inefficiency with which he played last year. Maybe sometimes, it takes actually being able to see efficiency to appreciate it. Keep it up Kobester.

From KB's fb:

Great day yesterday! Home walk was a huge success and I thank you all for your involvement in this great commitment to end homelessness. This is a year round battle and this issue requires a lot of patience, understanding, selflessness and persistence. From the bottom of our KVBFF hearts we thank you!!

On the Laker front we are adjusting to our new style of play fairly well. Bernie and our coaching staff have been great and extremely professional in how they have handled this coaching transition. It will be nice to have Coach D on the sidelines tonight if he's able to start.

On a social media front, I'm thinking about potentially branching out some more and want some feedback, Instagram or Twitter??? Or is there another platform I don't know about.. I will lean on your feedback. My Facebook will remain the same. :-)

It'd be cool if he joined twitter, wouldn't it?

I don't know, a large part of me doesn't want to see him on twitter because he's like the only really famous and great athlete to not be on Twitter and that makes him unique. Kobe's always been more of an old school type player and I think its great that he doesn't just go out and do what every athlete does, which has a twitter account.

Just stay on Facebook Kobe

With the essays he puts on FB, I don't think twitter would work out too well for him :man10:
Every time I begin to ask, "Is he really as great as I think he is?" ...He proves that he is.
Every time I begin to wonder...He proves it...That is why I won't lose hope in him.
You know who I am talking about.

I think Twitter wouldn't really fit him. he puts a lot of thought into what he posts on Facebook and gives more insight than some stupid retweet or whatever. I think Instagram would be good. give fans an even more inside look into being a laker and his life outside bball too. he posts pics on Facebook so he's halfway there but Instagram would make it easier for him and this more pics.

don't really care that much but it would be cool. twitter would be stupid. have you read what bball players post....it's pointless.

Kobe's gonna be Kobe whether he's on twitter or not.. His uniqueness can't be as superficial as "not being on twitter".
What would be so different? He posts pictures and shares thoughts on facebook, and he actually gets pretty personal from time to time... Being on twitter would only be a change in terms of frequency, the essence of the concept wouldn't be that much different..

It could be a good way for Kobe to promote certain values, like training hard and practicing, talking about fearlessness and preparation, etc. It would help him market his products even more and also promote the causes he's interested in (like the homeless walk).
By the content of what he shared he could become more "unique" than by simply not being on twitter IMO.
