Kobe Bryant has the greatest net worth in the NBA, according to Wealth-X.com, a wealth-analysis website.

Bryant's total net worth is estimated at $220 million, bolstered by endorsement deals with "Nike, Coca-Cola, Turkish Airlines, Mercedes-Benz, Lenovo, Panini and Hublot," the website said

Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics (until he's dealt next week to the Brooklyn Nets) came in second, with a net worth of $190 million. Garnett was drafted in 1995, Bryant in 1996.

LeBron James was next at $130 million, the only player drafted this century (2003) to make the top five.

Tim Duncan (1997) and Ray Allen (1996) tied at fourth and fifth, at $100 million each.

Bryant will be the league's highest-paid player next season, at $30.5 million. Although he has hinted at retirement over the past year, the Lakers' guard said he recently reconsidered and may look to play another few seasons.

Must suck to play for the Lakers.

I thought his total net worth would be bigger since he earned around 250 M only in gross salaries ....

I wonder how much of these 30.5 M he will get after taxes/agent fees/ect

Dwight walks? If so, amnesty Kobe. We tank for wiggins. Kobe plays with the Clips, Nets, Thunder or Bulls for a year to try to get 6th. Comes back to finish with the Lakers in 2014-15.

:man10: I wasn't gonna go as far as "crack", but I was gonna ask if he was on something, because there's no way any of that happens, ever.

No crack. Just wishful thinking. No reason to pay taxes or rush Kobe back for a lost cause season next year. Get under the cap. Get a good draft position. And Kobe can sit out for a year or choose a team in Feb or March to try to get his 6th. Cuban said it last year - remember the "amnesty that" game? Lol. But now with Kobe having a terrible injury and the Lakers falling over themselves for Dwight, if he leaves, blow it up now and get under the cap this year to re-load. What is one year? I would like to see it - both for Kobe and the Lakers. Call me crazy. Its ok. : )

Well as long as you say it's okay, you're crazy dude.

No way the Lakers amnesty Kobe with the understanding that he leaves. Even if by some weird accident they amnesty him, it'll be with the understanding that he isn't signing anywhere. But that's not happening either.

if he wants to contend while hes still a significant piece of the puzzle, he will need to pay cut. lakers simply arent able to add any true quality to boost the team if hes making 30.

It's not about what he's worth, he's worth a ton, it's about what he'll take so the team actually has money to spend like for example the Clippers do right now.

yeah ....very curious that kobe would take how much of his salary after the season,if he takes what he's worth ,it would be really tough in the cap space

By the way guys, he's obviously taking a paycut. :man10:

30 million dollars? He's not making nearly that on his next contract. He knows that.

How does that help?

If he asks for 20 million he can go retire. That's not a reasonable salary for the cap.
