I went to that bastion of journalistic integrity - Wikipedia - to see what's up. Found this hilarious and sad line:
Sprewell's career came to an unexpected end in 2005 when he refused a $21-million three-year contract offer from the Timberwolves, which he implied would not be enough to feed his children. Since that time, he has made headlines for grounding his million dollar yacht, having two of his homes foreclosed upon, and being prohibited from seeing his children.

That's not even the strangest thing on the page.

Does Wiki have its credibility problems too?

Way to go Spree. I wonder how much of that really stupid decision was Spree's call vs his agent's advice?

Better than expected leaves out something...... what was expected.

If he can come back at 80% of the Kobe that tore his achilles that would be much better than "expected" IMHO....

At his age it's difficult to come back after this long of a layoff as the rest of the body begins to atrophy if not used. He will need a long conditioning regime to get all the way back.

All of that said... to borrow the hyperbole keyboard from LGL..... If anyone on the planet can do it... it will be Kobe.

Bron's 4th quarter stats this series:

GM 1: 2 points, 1-3 fg, 0-0 3pt, 0-0 ft
GM 2: 8 points, 2-4 fg, 1-1 3pt, 3-4 ft
GM 3: 4 points, 2-4 fg, 0-1 3pt, 0-0 ft
GM 4: 0 points, 0-2 fg, 0-2 3pt, 0-0 ft

AVG: 3.5 ppg, 38.4 fg%, 25.0 3pt%, 75.0 ft%

LeBron garbage in the 4th quarters of a Finals series? Hmm, that seems oddly familiar, like déjà vu.

That's horrible. And it's true: Fish or Nash could probably give you 3pts and 38% fg% right now, and they are 40.

Kobe could probably do the same on an ankle sprain. I'm not sure what Bron is thinking, but it's also true that his teammates are not helping at all. Bosh is camping around 3 pt line and is playing softer then ever, Wade looks pretty much done, and Chalmers... let's not even go there. Bron is an unbelievable talent and a physical specimen, but he doesn't always deliver in the 4th, and instead of dominating, he's deferring to inferior players who can't carry the team.

Lebron not setting the tone on both ends are the pb ... not his 4th quarters stats , both games were already over

Kobe Bryant to promote his documentary at critics press tour

Kobe Bryant will be the focus of a Showtime documentary looking at his life, inspirations and influences
Kobe Bryant documentary currently shooting in Los Angeles
Kobe Bryant is preparing to put a full court press on the nation's TV critics.

The Los Angeles Lakers star is scheduled to appear at this summer's Television Critics Assn. press tour to promote "Kobe Bryant's Muse," a feature-length documentary about his life, inspirations and challenges which will air on Showtime this fall.

The documentary, which is being directed by Gotham Chopra, is currently in production.

Stephen Espinoza, executive vice president and general manager of Showtime Sports, said the film "will offer viewers a deep character portrait of a professional athlete who has transcended his sport to be a culture-moving personality."

Bryant, who is scheduled to return to the Lakers this season after missing most of last season due to injury, is one of the executive producers of the documentary, along with Chopra.

Not sure I read too much into it. I'm done hating on Lebron. That team is pretty bad outside of him and Bosh. Wade shows up intermittently, but he carries the Heat at this point. I don't know why people still hate on him as a player. He's amazing. So is Kobe. Why do we have to compare the two? I mean, if Kobe's better it doesn't get me a raise at my job. I doubt Laker fans score chicks if Kobe is better.

Also, not sure why Bron's stats are in the Kobe thread.

Saying I am excited doesn't do it justice. Only problem is I don't have showtime :bang:
