Los Angeles Laker Kobe Bryant is walking in United Way’s HomeWalk Saturday and wants you to join him – or at least help support the effort.

Take 15 seconds to check out this PSA Kobe, the Honorary Chair of the walk for the second consecutive year, made where he relays the sad fact “LA County is homeless capital of America.”

Here are some more stats:

40% of the homeless are women and children; 24% are chronically homeless
62% of the homeless population are unsheltered, living on the streets or in cars
Local families now represent the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population
Permanent housing with supportive services has a proven success rate of 85%

HomeWalk will take place this Saturday, Nov. 17 at Exhibition Park in LA to raise public awareness and fund solutions to end homelessness.

In the past, the United Way 5K has $2.2 million dollars, helping 12,000 previously homeless people in L.A. move into permanent housing. This year, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation is will matching every donation of $100 or more, hopefully leading the walk to raise the most money yet.

Even when it comes to charity, Kobe's trying to be competitive and outdo Pau :man9:

Saw this earlier on Yahoo, we've heard about it before, Kobe seems very genuinely passionate about this. He's going to get a lot of "he's doing it for the publicity" from haters, but yeah, he is, that's the whole point, bringing attention to the problem.

He's being personally Sith trained in the death stare by Kobe.
Vitti uttered three words that surely applies to how Bryant made two free throws on one leg, walked off the court on his own and processed his rehabilitation plan amid the pain, frustration and tears.

“That’s really cool.”
