Kobe, The Daddy, The Mailman & The Glove....

Postby 4Rings on Thu Jul 17, 2003 12:08 pm

Which player out of these four do you think is going to have the most trouble dealing with so many people demanding the ball?

I think it's going to be Kobe. He is going to have to get out of that 30 point scoring mentality everynight. He is going to have to learn how to scale his game back for the betterment of the team. I am wondering if he can do that. He is only 25 and I wonder how he is gonna deal with that. Although, he seemed quite pleased when GP showed off his Lakers jersey last night at the ESPYs. We shall see.

You heard GP say on the press conference that he wants to lead the league in assists and believe me with three major weapons, he can accomplish that.
If we are all thinking alike, then nobody is thinking!

Well that remains to be seen, the triange offense does not normally allow alot of solo ball distribution. The team passing concept normally finds the open shot, however if GP can get out on the break like he said he should be able to dish out a few easy dimes.

I don't get it. Why does eveyone talk about these players scaling their came back? You got 4 superstars on the court playing a game they love. I really don't see a problem with all four of them bringing their "A" game every night. Sharing the balls is going to come natural to these four. And I'm sure the person with the hot hand is going to get fed the ball like crazy.

The thing is, now that Kobe doesn't have the pressure to score 30 points how much better will he be? When Shaq came back this season after Kobe's streak. Kobe adjusted well... Kobe doesn't need to score to be great, he knows how to adjust his game. I garuantee this will be brought up by "professional" anaylisits at time goes on.

Im saying it first, Kobe won't have no trouble because he knows how to adjust his game.

All four will have their shots in terms of the team concept and the triangle.

There are times when each one of them need some rest. Phil will find a way to have 2 hall of famers at the court at the same time throughout the majority of the game. Then at crunch time we can have all 4 of them.
Unless we are blowing out teams in a continuous basis, and we can rest our stars.

I want Kobe to be matched with Karl....... and Payton to be matched with Shaq.

No Problems........remember the Dream Team? great athletes LOVE playing with other great athletes. You add the return of the fast break to this team and there is enough touches for everyone.

OJ2,

I agree that greatness loves to play and are honored to play with greatness. With 4 superstars, instead of two, we can rest our 4 hall of famers more during the regular season, so that once the postseason come, we have some fresh players. Then we dominate.

i agree with this with the exception of kobes assists going down when i think they will go up at least 1/gm with the other scorers on the court. and whats the record for assists in a season cause i think payton could break it easily whatever it is.
can you say payton breaks down the d and tosses a oop to shaq/kobe or to the open malone on the baseline?
is shaq satisfied with three titles and continuing to blow up to 400 lbs or will he get the other hunger back and get down to 320 and win three more?? GO LAKERS 2004-06 CHAMPS!!!

I think that Kobe will have to sacrafice his game a bit, but he can still avg 26pts easily.

Man, if Shaq didn't miss Miller, Miller seriously would have died or something...

But you knoe what was funny about that fight, after Shaq was ejected and he was already in the tunnel on the way to the locker room, Miller got up like he wanted to fight...
