Laker troubles in game 1 vs. Spurs

Laker troubles in game 1 vs. Spurs

Postby FirstLady on Mon May 05, 2003 10:01 pm

Friggin' turnovers!

I'm sorry, but our Lakers looked like a bunch of high school ballers. Not only did they have a difficult time guarding the perimeter, but they turned the ball over entirely too much and they let Genobili pick their pockets :bang:

I just needed to vent for a minute. But, I still have faith that they win the series.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

BEST VIDEO EVER ... AND AND THE SECOND BEST.

Dayam this sux...I bet we never thought we lose Devean like this. But the x-rays were negative, but so were Foxxy's... This just messes up a lot of the rotation now cuz Phil is used of playin certain players, and well now we gotta depend on the bench a hell of a lot more...

Early in the game, when Duncan was in the post I recognized the players would set these low pic screens for him to spin by, and well it was working on us... Dayam!!!

You've just got to give the Spurs credit for this game. They played a very good zone defense that the Lakers just couldn't get around. I'm not too worried tho... The Spurs pretty much played their best ball, and the Lakers just didn't play their "A" game. Look for adjustments in Game 2.

adjustments

Postby Guest on Tue May 06, 2003 2:46 am

The one and only adjustment LA needs to make for game 2 is "protect the ball."

Anyone notice that EVERYTIME Duncan was left alone guarding Shaq it resulted in 2 points. Robinson is a MUCH better defensive player, but Duncan will get 1st Team All D.

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAKERS WIN THIS SERIES, SO MANY PEOPLE JUST JUMP ON THE WAGON WHEN THEY'RE WINNING BUT HAVE SOMETHING BAD TO SAY WHEN THEY LOOSE. HOW QUICKLY PEOPLE FORGET THAT WE ARE CHAMPIONS AND HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE. THERE WILL BE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AT THE PARADE, SOME OF WHO WERE HATERS IN THE BEGGINING!

BANDWAGONNERS PISS ME OFF TOO!!! no offense, but most of these bandwagonners are girls

lakers didnt look great first game, but who kares? theyll bounce back just like that. shaw will do great as always filling up for george. hes mr. dependable! we needed to see more of shaw anyways. the key to last night's game was FREE THROWS.. we gotta be more aggressive inside, either giving it up to shaq, or penetrating the inside. and obviously, bench needs to step up, and dfish has to have his A-game.. other than that, theres really nothing to worry about. 4 wins in a row, just like philly... lakers in 5!

Most people who jump on the bandwagon are like 14 or so, and the rest of them don't know what the hell they're talkin about :man10: it's funny. The females here on this forum aren't bandwagon jumpers like the rest. We've been through thik and thin with the Lakers like in 93, and even when we got swept by the Spurs durin the lockout season. But tru fans gotta except that with failure comes success, and well this success couldn't take as sweet as it does :man13:

Hey, losing isn't anything that bad...Shaq and Kobe have experienced that in spades, so we will ultimately choose the opposite path, VICTORY! I have all the faith in the world (as tested and maybe ultimately disproven as it may be) that we can and will pull this series out, and I agree that bandwagon fans are irritating. They serve a purpose though, they fill seats in good seasons and help sell merchandise during championship runs, so all is not totally a loss!
