Just mentioned this when on with @Mark_T_Willard: The Lakers have also had conversations with former Laker Josh Powell's representative

Josh Powell has no NBA skills set but he is a good locker room guy, I think as a 3rd string insurance backup PF he is okay and wouldn't mind him to return.

C - Pau / Kaman / Sacre
PF - Hill / Odom / Powell / Kelly
SF - ?
SG - Kobe / Meeks
PG - Nash / Farmar / Blake

Maybe after that we can package and trade Hill & Blake together for a young athletic wing player to start at the SF spot ?

Magic Johnson : "Put me with Kareem, James Worthy, Cooper and Byron Scott, and we'd dominate your Bulls team"

How many PFs are we trying to get here? :man10:

The Lakers are so intent on bringing the band back together I'm afraid they're trying to trade Hill for Ariza now.

I guess the Lakers' Plan B was truly to bring the old group back together on veteran minimum contracts, knowing they'd take them due to their prior allegiance with the Lakers. While anything's good on a minimum contract, there's a reason players like Farmar, Vujacic and Powell haven't drawn any outside interest this offseason other than from the Lakers. It's because they aren't any...

and Powell's likely the worst of it. Re-read my scouting report. That's literally as scathing as it gets. If you thought I was harsh on Kaman and Farmar, wait tell you see Powell's.

of course. we have absolutely NOTHING going for us right now so the FO figured why not just bring back the guys from the back to back title teams just for old time's sake since we have nothing to lose.

we all know powell isn't going to do close to anything performance-wise but he always brings energy and like someone else said, he's a great locker room guy. if this was most any other off-season, these signings would get us all thinking WTF. but there's really nothing else they can do, and it's already clear that we are not going to be even close to contending next season

Is B-Ball played 4 on 4 now or are the Lakers allergic to small forwards ?

Mitch: "There is only one option..."
Jim: "Wait...you're not talking about..."
Mitch: "Yes."
Jim: "I'll call them."
Mitch: "No. I'll call them."

I like to see both steves, Pau and Hill traded for first round and bring all the oldies Lakers to play one more year in the Lakers uniform. By trading the above Lakers can bring the best youth next year and get two supper stars and sent for rings for many years to come.

ehhhh. We should sign a solid PF for insurance purposes. If Hill gets injured again, we'd have an extra for the PF position. I doubt we will start both Kaman and Gasol together.... or perhaps we will? IDK.
