Lakers Intrigued By Tyreke Evans?

Evans is fools gold IMO.... great athlete but his motivation seems to be lacking. I really begin to wonder about a young player when his best year in 5 was his rookie year and his production has been steadily declining on a team that needs more now than then......

Not sure we need another player that is most effective in the paint and isn't the best at stretching the defense either.

With that said.... if we can get a guy like him and a few of their other shooters/bench guys for Pau I'd probably do it....

True, but we're slow enough as it is We really need guys like Clark and Hill to be our off the bench bigs. Guys that are going to be able to run with the other team's fast units.

I love the way Hayes plays, but we've already got our slow big guy: Sacre. And I like him better.

Definitely NOT in this sytem. NO MORE BRICKS on this squad while Mike D is coaching. Only guys who can stroke the ball. Jared Dudley yes. Tyreke Evans no way no how. Forget it. It'll just add to the frustration.

YES please. We can thank the futility of the Kings organization for making Tyreke Evans one of the best kept secrets in the NBA. This kid is still off the charts good, he hasn't fizzled out or anything. Many players would find it hard to succeed with 4 or 5 coaches in as many years.

It doesn't help that the Kings add/shuffle 2 or 3 shoot-first guards every year either.

Like Barkley said last night, the Kings ruined Tyreke Evans.

If he finds his way to the Lake Show, Tyreke will be $$$

I'm on the fence about whether or not I'd trade for him, but I fully agree with the above in terms of the impact on any player. Lack of consistency, leadership, and quality players around him would fatigue any player.

Well whatever D'antoni envisions Morris can do in the starting line-up, I think Evans can play that role to perfection. Personally I don't think it makes much sense and I think we should focus more on getting a player who is athletic, can defend, AND can shoot well. But if we can get Evans and some combination of Brooks, Thornton, Hayes, and Salmons while only giving up Pau, that'd be a no brainer.

I'm guessing you're saying what I proposed would be too unrealistic ...

I said some combination of those players, as in one or two of them, not all of them. Some of those players would HAVE to be thrown in to make salaries work. Something like Evans, Salmons, and Thornton. If I were the Kings, I wouldn't make that trade for Pau. All I'm saying is that if Evans is a realistic possibility, we'd HAVE to get back more players other than just Evans. And since the Kings have a bunch of quality players with the contracts to make the trade work, I'd be willing to make the trade even though Evans by himself wouldn't be the best fit.

Actually, I think he could fit this system. Yeah he's going to throw up some bricks, but his shooting hasn't been too awful this year, and getting open looks playing with better players is going to increase his shooting %. I kind of have the feeling he could be a Trevor Ariza type of steal if we could grab him. They play different positions sure, but I think he could be that sneaky high energy athlete that grabs steals, runs the floor, cuts off ball, and plays defense. Shooting is nice, but it's not everything.

This current Laker team has no youthful athletes like we had the last couple of years. I'm talking about the Sasha/Jordan/Shannon/Trevor type of guys. Yeah, not the greatest players, but each of them brought something to our championship runs. Morris, and Meeks are not really there in terms of impact, and both of them have massive holes in their game that ultimately makes them a liability.

Jared Dudley would be really nice too, he's more of a "3 and D" swingman, while Tyreke is an athletic playmaking combo. Both would be a massive upgrade to our squad.
